It has begun...Relationship changes

Please be the strong person you already are, having made the decision that is best for you. Be the forthright person you have to be, because uou were open with your "friend". Believe that even though people are callous and mean at times, does NOT give them the power to make you feel bad. Only you can give them that power. Take it back and simply tell her that you appreciate her lettin you know which direction she was going in your friendship but you have already chosen a different path. A higher ground. -

Impatiently waiting for Aetna

Ok ladies and gents. Got a question for any and all to answer. Please. I am going to a dr in indiana. I have UMR insurance. Will I have to complete the six months of dr monitored weight loss BEFORE they submit to insurance or just after all the other stuff? The only thing I think I need is the six months (now down to three). My psych eval is done. I am worried if they submit before the 6 months I will get denied. I am worried if it is after the 6 months, I will have something else to do that I could be doing now. Any thoughts? -

I told my husband who is very supportive but a little uninformed. He thinks I will still be eating mashed potatoes after surgery because its soft food. I also told my close friends/co-workers and it was a mixed reception. One was all horror stories and the other two were supportive but not really believing that I would follow through. I have not and will not be telling my children or parents. My kids are teenagers and not the most accepting of change. Every time I go on a diet or try to eat healthier, I have several of them asking for sweets or baked goods or just all out complaining that they hate it when I "diet". My parents will not be supportive. I broached the subject of a mutual friend having bariatric surgery and their response was that she was "just too weak to lose it on her own". Sometimes I feel like it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission. -

I love this idea! I am 39 years old, am married and we have a blended family of five kids. I am a registered nurse and work in the intensive care unit at a nearby hospital. We are a rescue home for great danes and currently have six. I love to read an do anything craft related. I sew, knit, crochet, quilt and embroider. -

I have developed adult onset asthma. I am an RN who works exclusively in the ICU. I have watched many patients over the years destroy themselves. Smoking, obesity, uncontrolled diabetes. You name it. But the hardest part for me was realizing how much I felt bad for the loss of these wonderful people in the lives of their loved ones. Then I realized that I was going to be a statistic too. Another COPD patient who loved her family but forgot to love herself enough to let go of the fear and embrace the life God gave me. So I am doing this for me. As a wonderful side effect, I will be around longer to care for my loved ones instead of needing it to be the other way around. -
