Okay I don't respond much but I read all the response daily. I am having a hard time with parties(christmas) does anyone have suggestions on nibbly stuff that will not totally blow this out of the Water? I have tried to focus on the Protein items but they are getting stuck. I ahve pb at the last two parties. I normally do not do that but I am talking and eating which does not work for me. Any thing that might go down smoother. Most people know about the surgery but pbing is unpleasant. thanks beth MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO ALL

Well I was self pay. It was only to be 13,800 but that doesn't include the preop. No my grocery bill has not gone down but our eating out has which is an average saving of 200.00 a month. We would eat atleast two meals out a week now maybe one and i share with my kids. We are a family of 5 so mcdonald's cost 20.00 atleast. We now all are eating healthy and spending the same on groceries. good luck. I would take on the payment again anyday. beth

You are a wonderful person. I went back to my fitday to see what was up. I also called the doctors office and they were waiting to hear from me because they thought I would need a fill. The doctor had charted upon my return from Africa to set me up for a fill with no questions. On my first fill he didn't fill it as normal because of my trip. I had totally forgot till you jogged my thoughts. (with my doctor the nurse will see if you need a fill before they will just schedule one) Not sure if all doctors do this. But my fill is oct 2. Just going to try to cut my calories back until then. currently at 1200 cal a day will try for 1000. Thanks for the support. The support and much needed rest last night has helped. Dad took care of the kids knowing I had a bad day. Yeah. thanks beth

Anyone use Dr. Jaime Ponce in GA?
bethgrove replied to Nettie's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I used Dr. ponce and had it done at the outpatient center. II am private pay and with all lapwork, upper gi and cost I am out about 14, 400. But I could not find it cheaper in the states. I went to the seminar on June 12 and was banded july 11th. I have always had a wonderful experience they sometimes are busy but I work in the medical feild and are alittle more forgiving then people who don't -
It was beautiful. A little difficult to eat on the new diet, but still lost weight so I was happy. The area was great and the animals were fun to see. They just roam around.

well just flew back from south africa. No security problems with the band but a great filling of fullness. I learned from the flight over so i ate very little before the flight, just thought you might want to know

Just an update
bethgrove replied to lawanda jessica's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For lunch And dinner I found you could blend up chilli and thin it with sour cream. This will help with the taco craving. I used this alot because I was tired of 'bland" food. Keep up the good work. -
