I had a lap band done in Feb 2009, it went really well at first. I started at 285, got down to 160 and was very happy, then... all of sudden, my band flipped and I had stomach swelling and pain to move, but could still eat. I wanted to have band removed and sleeve done because since April I have gained 45 pounds. Devastating. I cant get a sleeve because my BMI too low. Devastating. To make it worse, some an area of my stomach opened and everyday I have to cover it with gauze else I have drainage on my clothing. Disgusting. So I am thinking very seriously about going to Mexico. I know two people that went and are ecstatic. They look great, they loved the hospital, and they cant say enough good things about it. They saw Dr. Lopez.. I am hoping to find out more.
