Sorry but that last statement is not true...You can die as a result of this surgery. The complications can lead to death...I know I almost died. My surgeon was very clear before he did this procedure that I knew there was a small chance that I could die...I almost did!!!! The fact is though that only a small percentage do die....Every surgery is a risk.....even having your teeth removed...There are numbers out there to support it... Some day I will tell my story in print so that I may help educate people about what can happen... But I have no regrets. I see this surgery as a miracle that gave me back my life although a year + out I am still struggling with the complications of WLS... I think you miss understood my last very last point, my dr said I would not die, not the rest of the population , just a conversation pertaining to me; however he did make it well know. That I could die from complications after the surgery for the first 8 weeks! My statement wasn't untrue , not at all! He was talking to me, but I picked amazing drs that are confident an do not do any procedures unless they feel the outcome will be a success! That being said, any procedure can become fatal! Knowing 49 people that have died from wls is insane to all of us! Point is, the lady is a crack pipe!

I am also going to point out something! First off my drs made it clear, u can not judge wls and compare it , because wls has evolved so much that bypass is way different then it was 5-10 years ago! Second, google facts on sleeve patients but not for weight loss! Sleeve has been preformed to save lives for years! It's main purpose was for stomach cancer! I just had a lady tell me the other day she had it because half her stomach died from a car accident 10 years ago! I guess with all these positive success stories, how one ladies rampage can turn heads, is mind boggling , and even more to believe half that crap! For you out there who have not gotten your sleeve yet, let me tell you, ask your dr about the risks! My dr flat out said " you will not die from this surgery" !

    Best and worst "compliments"

I think that the jealousy thing is funny, skinny people complement until they figure out you may get thinner than them, then they want you to stop because heaven forbidyou look and feel as good , if not better! and oddly enough , I find the bigger people are faster to criticize, and resent! I get more negativity from over weight, than underweight people! On another note, My mom gave me a some what complement , she said "honey your butt is getting small pretty soon I won't have nothin to smack! " First off, I don't want a small but, I like curves, and second, the last time I was this weight she was telling me how big I was getting! We got into a huge fight and I told her to keep my weight out of her business! Now I'm back at this weight coming down, and she says I'm looking good?! Confusion! !!!! Really , you think I'm looking good now , but you didn't before lol! Funny! I love my mom, but my perception of words is sensitive!
  6. I hear dump alot.. what does that mean?So dumping doesn't happen often but when it does, it's when sugar or carbs, milk , candy , oj, whatever it may be, literally goes through your stomach to your intestines to fast ( this, dumping into your intestines) and then your intestines sends a warning Harmon or chemically that it's not happy, which gives you the dumping symptoms! It's a protection mechanism , even though there really is no danger the intestines think there is because they can't digest sweets when the just arrive( are dumped) without the proper stomach brake down! Usually with the sleeve it doesn't happen often! My husband gets it from time to time! It cause rapid heart rate, and just an overwhelming feeling of sickness, but again the symptoms are harmless, they suck an last for a couple hours but are harmless!
  7. I was you two months ago! Prilosec is a life saver! My NUT would only let me take maalox ! Every day it got better slowly, but not until 1 week ago have I actually felt good! At 5 weeks post op I put myself in Prilosec, some dr prescribe it immediate , my does not! Let me tell you ,,,, all the bad goes away! I don't know how long I need to be on it, but it is a miracle! My husbands sleeve dr prescribed it the day after his surgery! Either way, I am 99% sure it will help you all

When Does The 2Nd Stall Hit?

True story, I got so mad I thought it was the batteries, so I changed them! Nope not the batteries! Good thing I bought new ones!
  11. Every person on here has had. Stall, I just had my 3 week post op stall as well! I gained two pounds , and it lasted two weeks +! I promise, it ends! Drink water! My np explained it like this ! If our bodies were cars, water would be our gas! Water is the fuel that fires your metabolism! When this stall ends , lbs will start falling like butter!
  12. Okay here is my first lesson learned! Do not, I repeat, do not chug water lol! Lets just say it comes back up as fast as you chug it down! What's your lesson learned!?
