It's interesting how differently I'm treated these days

I think that fat prejudice is alive and well. In our world today, it's not cool to have prejudice against someone who is differently sexually oriented, or for color or race, but it's completely acceptable to be prejudiced against someone for being fat, and evenly openly make comments. I know that my formerly thin person really did have a different opinion of overweight people, and when I became overweight I expected to be thought of and treated differently. -

I'm using warm chicken broth, Gatorade, Water, and clear juices - mostly apple juice -
You're starting in the right direction. Reach out to people who are similarly situated. You may begin to enjoy the solitude. Just don't reach in the fridge to make you feel better. Good luck!

Just don't give up on your preop diet. It's not worth risking complications. I had mine on the 31st and I'm recovering well. I'm so excited that I made the decision to do this. I just wish I hadn't waited (weighted) so long. Good luck and keep us posted w pics. -
It has begun...Relationship changes

It's a little ironic that she tells you WLS is the easy way out when she had liposuction. You need to be with friends that will totally support your new path to being normal. She's not supportive. Cut her off and move on. I realize this sounds harsh, but you're looking for healthy solutions in your life right now. You're cutting out most of your stomach to get there. She'll have to go with your stomach. Also, think about whether she's contributed to your past eating habits.... -
Let us know how it went for you. I had my surgery on the 31st. I'm so excited to start my journey to becoming NORMAL again.

I just can't believe it!

I have BC/BS of IL also. I was told from the beginning that anything weight-loss related is a specific exclusion on my policy. I went to one clinic to get advice and information because I figured I might just self-pay if it was within a reasonable range. They asked to let them check my insurance anyway, even though I stated from the beginning I wasn't covered. They came back and told me I was covered. I was excited at first, but I asked them to re-check. They then came back telling me I wasn't covered. The good news: I went to Tijuana and self-payed at a much lower cost.
