Hello. I have this theory about all the emotional ups and downs we go through as we lose weight. I work in the field of energy work (acupuncture, energy psychology) and I see it from that perspective. What if a lot of our craziness that we go through when we release the excess weight is emotions stored in the fat cells? In Eastern Medicine we feel that the body holds memories such as traumas and emotions. It makes a lot of sense to me that as we shed the fat, that all the emotions we stored in the fat while we ate under stressful, emotional and traumatic times are released. When I acknowledge that this is happening, it helps me to understand the emotional pain that is coming up to be released. It is so much easier for me when I don't feel like "There must be something wrong with me." or " Am I crazy?" Sure, there are other reasons for the emotions that arise during weight loss; blood sugar issues, hormones, etc., but the energy of whatever we were stuffing being released as the fat is released makes a lot of sense to me too. It helps to know we aren't crazy when things feel so intense, and that it will pass. (no pun intended) Can anyone relate to this too?

Tomorrow is my final Nutritionis visit before they submit the insurance forms to approve my surgery. I was told I had to lose 23 lbs by then and this morning I reached it!!! yay!. The day after tomorrow I meet with the Dr.....not sure what that is about but it is a counsutation. I'm working with Dr. Vuong at Lovelace Westside. Also, I found a protien shake that is actually good for you. No chemicals, artificial anything, no dairy or nuts. The brand is called RAW and it isn't the best tasting but I added PB2 to it and it was fine. Low in calories too, but plenty of protien.

Could It Be Emotional Detox?
litebrite replied to litebrite's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Very true. Good points. And the reasons we feel bad as we lose the weight is the negative energy is leaving. I think if we eat good, healthy food when we need to eat and with gratitude it changes everything. Thanks for the insight Peggy. -

Wow, you are on your way. Good luck with the preop diet. I'm sure you can do just about anything for two weeks. By the way, I have a lot of problems replying on this website. There are some days when the site just won't let me reply to post's. Anyway, I'm happy you are on your way.

Hi LeeandB, I'm Elise. I haven't had the surgery yet. I'm hoping for Jan. Congratulations with your surgery and going through this process. Who did your surgery and where? Do you ever come into the Albuquerque or Rio Rancho area? Maybe we could meet for tea somewhere. Anyone else in the area could join too.

Tink, you have lost so much! Congratulations. It must be wonderful to see the changes so quickly. How are you feeling since the surgery? How much are you able to eat before you feel full now at a meal? Is any of it easy or difficult for you?
