Just wanted to update. BCBS approved using only the Weight Watchers info. Surgery is in a little over a week!

I had some paperwork problems but the day that the insurance company (BCBS) had all of the info that they required, they approved me! I hope your approval is FAST!

My insurance approval is official! Everything is a go for December 30! Excited and nervous at the same time! I hope all of our post op sleevers are doing well! Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for the 12/20s

I start my pre op on Monday and will have surgery on Dec 30. On Christmas, I am going to focus on the babies in the family and play with them while their parents get a break and can eat uninterrupted. It is one day and I keep telling myself that holidays are about family and not food. Good luck!

I am saying a prayer tonight that our 12/2 sleevers are resting comfortably tonight and that our 12/3 sleevers are able to get some rest before their big day! Good luck!

I am and it is DRIVING ME CRAZY!

My nervousness comes and goes. This morning I woke up with a stomach full of butterflies for some reason. I can't believe this is actually happening. I am trying to prepare as much as I can -Clean house, freezer meals for family, deciding what to take with me to the hospital. I have 5 weeks until surgery so I imagine I will have many more mornings like this!.

I think this is the perfect place for your post! Good luck for the rest of your pre op diet! Take it one minute at a time if you need to! This will be a memory soon!

I am back from my first support group meeting. I was SUPER nervous before the meeting so my sweet 20 year old daughter went with me. It was the surgery coordinator (who I love), the nutritionist (who is great), me, and 3 other pre-ops + support peeps. I was a little disappointed at first that there weren't more people and no people who have already had surgery. But it went great and I learned more about the pre-op diet and.... I MET SOMEONE FROM THIS GROUP!!!!! AngiD!!! AND WE HAVE THE SAME SURGEON AND ARE GETTING SLEEVED THE SAME DAY!!!!! Great night, super excited!

I am going to my first support meeting tonight! Not sure what to expect but I am eager to see what it is all about. I am hoping there are some pre-ops at the meeting. I will report back. Have any of you been going to meetings? Also, my eating has been really bad. I need to get it together before I have to start my pre-op diet. Too many food funerals. Stupid.

I have a date! December 30th is my day! I haven't had my psych eval because I am having trouble getting in, right now I am scheduled for November 26th. My surgeon coordinator said she is not worried and has put me on the schedule. I asked her if she thought my insurance approval would come in time and she was very confident. CRAZY! Nervous and excited! Care1175, my hubby was scared of me getting surgery so I took him with me to my consult with my surgeon. He feels much better now after meeting the surgeon and asking some questions.

i am having trouble getting in for my psych eval. The doctor is booked until December 5. i asked to be put on their cancellation list so I have now been moved up to November 26. This is my last hoop and I am afraid I won't get through it in time for December surgery. I am going to call the surgeon's office Monday and see if there is anything they can do to hurry this along, also going to call the psych office to make sure they keep trying to move my appointment up. I would appreciate prayers that I can get this done! It is exciting to see so many get their surgery scheduled!

I asked my surgeon how long I should expect and he said 10-14 days. I am a teacher (middle school) so I don't lift stuff. He said I wouldn't be 100% but if I could rest at lunch and on my plan period I would be ok. My own kids fall activities are wrapping up now so evenings won't be as crazy and I can relax and go to bed early if I need to.

My surgeon and his office seem confident I will have my surgery before the end of the year. I still have my psych eval and then final approval from my insurance company before I get an actual date. I am shooting for Dec 16 or 23 because I will be on Christmas break. I am excited!

Thanks for the replies! I will submit it and see what happens. The worse case is that I will be having surgery in May instead of December.

I am in the same boat. I am trying to get everything in order to have surgery over break. If I can't then I will have to wait until summer. I will find out in the next week or so if I am a December sleeve or a June sleeve. Good luck!
