I was banded on the 2nd and the noises are loud. I have a lot of gas my tummy is still releasing.But, im hanging in there.. some pain in my belly but not to bad.

Aloha girls, I am officially on the band wagon. I'm two days out and feeling okay. Better yet, I've even walked in the hospital and was doing excercise there. Anything to get that gas pain out of the shoulders. I applied heat the the shoulder and kept going. I have little ones here so that motivates me to get moving. I will rest rather i have to make myself rest. I'm not that person that can stay down long. My belly is still fairly swollen with some sensitivity in the port area. I was able to have one 4 oz of jello, three cups of broth, half a protein shake yesterday. I hear my stomach making growling noises but i think that gas moving around. I/m not hungry. For the most part, this was a breeze... god bless and i will keep you posted... Miriam

I'm getting on the band wagon tomorrow so wish me luck. I'm starting one day clear liquids which i know will be challenging since i have to be out and about today and have a pre op orientation with the nurse. My kids will be off of school this week so i know this will be challenging for my hubby to take care of me, baby, and them. I have teens so they will help the younger ones. I'm ready to start my journey and am peace with myself going in. I will check in a few days out to let you know how i'm doing. I'm always on my computer so it will be a challenge for me to be off for a few days. Aloha and God Bless You All.

Oh my gosh girls, this is the weekend before the band. My girls are making dinner tonight, my son is home visiting and he got fatter, im am so resisting the want to eat ... better yet pig out.; I've had a shake so far, some turkey spam with cheese, and a yogart. I will be on liquids on Monday. I was gonna start this weekend, what did you ladies do before... Miriam

Its ok Paula, we could meet up again soon. Some live in Kaneohe and i live in Kahuku. I'm going to miss the support group this time too, can someone fill me in later on what the speaker talks about... down te road i'd like reconstuctive surgery.. especially for my boobs... miriam

Aloha from Hawaii... My name is Miriam and im going to be banded on Oct 2nd. I have been reading the post but too busy to write. I have six kids at home ranging in ages fro 15 to 10 months. My baby will make 10 months the day after my band. My challenges include dealing with junk food around my kids, getting emotional and eating, and a skinny husband who has not gained since we were married. But i started my own pre op and am doing well. I am suppose to meet the surgeon for my pre op tomorrow and the nurse on Monday... im not excited as every describes.. im just ready and at peace... You have to get in your Protein. Did you doc say at least 60mgs...Im getting banded on Tuesday next week.. mes

Hey lisa, Welcome. I'm scheduled to be banded on the same day. I have been on a pre op diet, low carb and high Protein. Im not doing liquids until two days before. Pain is really individual but some folks can go back to work within days and other will take a week. I read stuff about port pain and most what sounds like gas pain. I think we will be ok..

Hi ladies, Im off to my psych appt. Its my last one with the team. I am doing well with my transition diet but not getting enough rest. Im so beat. Baby will be 10 months on Monday. She is waking up 4x a night. I had to excercise this morning but only did a bit. Im sooo out of it... miriam

Just curious, how are you moms and dads are making out with young kids post op. I have a soon to be 10 month old and i will be banded the day after she turns 10 months. She loves for me to pick her up, hold her, and its mostly dad taking care of her in the day. My job is after work and into the night. Any thoughts?? Mes

My appt is still at 3pm on Friday with Fowler. I had a pre op appt with Mary and met Cindy today. I have a appt with Dr Lovette on Wednesday and I should be all done with my appts. Except I must do a preop with Jennifer on the 1st. Im down nearly 10lbs. I havent done this strict pre op others describe on this site, Jennifer hasnt told me anything...?? Mes

Shoots, i typed this long post and i don't know where it went.. But please invite those ladies, the more the merrier. Im stuggling with a head cold, knee pain, and hip pain. I am suppose to see Cindy on Monday and i dont know how that's gonna go. They(team) tried to delay things for me.. but so far im moving ahead...

ok, got most of the appts out of the way. Called PT today and told them i was okay with the knee and she called me back in and cleared me to go to Cindy. She cancelled this yesterday. Got my protein shakes today, thanks Bev.. I like the chocolate carmel from GNC, but its sweet... I have a bad head cold to top things off.. sinuses are killing me.. aloha for now.. miriam/lisa

I'll be banded on 10/2 as well. I brought some protein shake and the yuckers ISOpure.. i was trying to see which i like. I am low carbing it and doing well. The nutritionist said to stay on that since i lost 7 lbs.. oops, my uncle told me to say i "released " 7 lbs. If i lost it, mean i gotta go find it.. and im not looking to get that back.. mes

Well i have gained 100lbs in our marriage of 15 yrs and been the gammont with many diets. My husband who is a size 28 ever since day 1 hasnt said to much either. ?I think like yours, maybe doesnt want to comment becuase we tried so much, but then again my husband is is safer to be mum because i will probably bite his head off if i hear negative out of him on this..

Well i saw my nutrionist tonite. She told me that i was on the right track for my surgery and that i should keep up what im doing. Im on a modified Atkins which was was doing now nearly one week before i saw her. I found out today i lost 7lbs on my own. Low carbing and high proteins.. you will still lose, and go on clear liquids 2 days before surgery is what i was told.
