    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hi, my BMI was 45 when I got banded on May 29,2007, I was 246 lbs. I'm not sure if thats considered low BMI or not. I have lost 40 lbs. Unfortunately I have been stuck at a 40lb weight loss for 3 wks. and although I feel like I can hardly eat much I am not loosing at all. Is this common? This may be a dumb question but how do u know if your band is too tight? Thanks, Stephany

Here's A New One. . .MY PORT FLIPPED!!!

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience with me. . .I just got my port fixed on monday, all went well. He also did a 1cc fill and I think it was just right. I was stuck at a 30 lb weight loss for a few weeks and now it is starting to go down! YES! Again, thank you for responding, it is so nice to know I'm not alone. Stephany
  6. Hi everyone, Yes, my port flipped! I went to get my first fill 2 wks ago after having my band in since May 29th,2007, the Dr. kept hitting metal. . .so sent me to interventional radiology where they tried to flip it back but no luck. So, next week I have to have surgery!!! YUCK!!!! My Dr. tells me that this has never happened in his practice and in worldwide statistics, only happens to 1% of banded people! Can you believe it? Leave it to me!! lol. :phanvan Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I really need a fill. . .I have lost 30 lbs since May 29th and am stuck there and able to eat too much. Stephany

    May 2007 Banders

Hi, I'm Stephany, banded May 29th, 2007. I am so glad to find this site. . .how wonderful to find people in the same boat!!!!Thank You! I am stuck at 22 lb weight loss, is this common? My Dr. hasnt filled me yet, he says I'm "on Target" is that also common?
  9. Thank you for your reply, it really helps to know I'm not alone!!!
  10. Hi, my name is Stephany and I had the lap-band procedure done on May 29th, 2007 by Dr. Mueller in San Diego. My starting weight was 246lbs and I am 5'2". I am now 222lbs. I know that is a great accomplishment and I know I could have never had this success without the band. Unfortunately, I have been stuck at 222lbs for about a week now. I have went to two "fill" appontments but my Dr. wouldnt fill me because he says my weight loss is better than average. I almost wanted to cry when he denied me the last fill. To this date. . .I havent even gotten one fill. Is this normal? I have this fear that I wont lose any more weight. . .ever! HELP!:help:
