Made it! Had to go home to retrieve passport and catch a later flight but at least I made. Coordinator Janese even came with the driver to airport to pick me at 9:20p as she wanted to go the extra mile for me as she felt bad to my rotten start leaving PP at home. The marriot was fab! big comfy bed w 4 pillows & luxurious sheets. picked up by ALM @ 7:30 did labs i was 2nd surgery about noon. I panic if IV needle doesnt land the first time so anestetiologist (sp) put it in. i thought that was kind. Its been 18 hrs a not a single pain. Zero nausea zero gas pains. And I have the pain tolerance of a baby. Unbelievable. nap time. sorry if bad typing, using a Kobo. oh yes free wifi here and hotel. p/w posted on door.Cheers to all. W

Has been going very well. Its 10 am, waiting for Dr to remove drain then we go back to hotel then a little excursion. Shoppjng and ice cream is the rumour. was just delivered all my lab results, leak test on cd, antibiotics, maalox, sublingual pain meds, gatorade, eye mask, earplugs and i forget what else he said. Vicky here, she is doing well also. w

you will get turned away at the boarding gate. And how do I know this? It happened to me this am. argh! Tears shed, more money spent getting in later tonight. Signed, Could I be any stupider?

Thanks Phoenix! Exactly what I wanted to know. I was very uncomfortable using canned cream soups for nutrition. I make everything from scratch but thought cream would be very off limits. "A little goes a long way" love it. Thanks again. W

Bless you, I've been wondering the exact same thing for 3 months. At first I thought it was creamed soup(pureed),then cream soup (made with cream, yum) but it must be something else. I can't believe it would be Campbells cream of mushroom/celery/tomato etc. There is no nutritional value that crap. What could it be?

Two of us arrive on the 3rd, one on the 4th and you on the 5th. Two of us will be back at hotel on the 6th after surgery when you get in on the 6th. PM me and we'll make a plan to meet. Looking forward to it! W

Law001 Sorry for your rotten news. I don't qualify either due to low bmi I took the bull by the horns and am going to Mexico for $5k "The man" is not going to decide my fate while I'm forced to jump thru hoops, thank you very much! Best of luck in the future. W

Made it thru day 3 with no cheating. phew! Crystal light helped. Tastes pretty good too. Check out "The Shrinking Liver" on Youtube. It shows fantastic animation of a liver shrinking and how it gives greater access to the stomach pouch. Not gross. W

Day 3: liquid Diet I'm not hungry b/c: 1) My gut is in shock that I bought 3 cases of Premier Protein shakes at costco (they were on sale) and I' not fond of them. 2) I cheated last night and had Thai Green Curry Pork with Thai rice. I had planned to put the curry on top of my kale salad but scooped the rice while the salad wasn't looking. Sigh. I can only tolerate one premier shake per day by adding instant espresso. Not cheating and no headache. My other shake I make in a magic bullet: frozen berries/0% greek yogurt/ Protein powder and milk. I tried skim milk today but it didn't fly. I'm a 2% girl. Does anyone think the extra 2.5 grams of fat from 2% is problematic? Salad with chicken or fish or egg for dinner. I love this forum. I've been in the self-pay Mexico part for 3 months, now I've graduated to the pre-op section. woohoo Soon we'll all be in the post-op section! I'm excited and happy to meet all you liquid diet peeps. Wendy To the posters who have been on liquids longer than 2 weeks, I feel your pain.

Soooo excited I just have to share! Starting the 3 meal; B: shake L: shake D: salad & protein today. Kinda surprised they said small salad, I mean is it possible to eat too much lettuce? Feeling strong and confident about all except getting the IV. Needles make me nervous esp those big buggers. Going to try someones suggestion of lots of water right til cut off time. Yippee for me!! Hey Katcloud I did a photo change to better reflect where I'm coming from. Just a water freak. I used to manufacture natural soap, back then they called me the Soap Nazi. Prior to that the favourite show was Seinfeld. Who could forget the Soup Nazi! haha Susy & Lori in the research stage. Remember to also research your after care team. Personally I chose Elias Ortiz and the A Lighter Me team as ALM patients have their own dedictated night nurse. She answers to ALM therefore has some "skin in the game". It was important (to me). You look great! What stands out for me (and most peoples before/after pics) is the eyes. The eyes appear bigger as the face gets smaller. They also shine extra bright with happiness. Good job girl! I'm two weeks from today! Super excited. W
