I heard coffee can cause ulcers and that is why they don't want us drinking it.

I am pre-surgery and I think no coffee will be really hard for me. I love my French Roast. I think I am addicted to my two cups a day.

I am still waiting to talk to the GI coordinator about diet or weight loss before surgery. Hopefully the rules are changing and we don't have to jump through all the diet hoops.

I have a friend married to a professor that in at a convention in regards to weight loss and obesity. This is the email she just sent me. I wanted to tell you that my huband is at a nutrition/obesity meeting in Atlanta and was told that the requirement to lose weight before weight loss surgery was just dropped. I know you mentioned that insurance co was requiring you to diet before surgery. There is supposed to be absolutely no good evidence for that requirement. I sure hope this is true. Does anyone else know about this. Just2b

I went to the orientation on Wednesday and today I had my first meeting with the surgeon. I think went well because I am going back for the nutrition class. I asked one of the nurses about the requirement from my insurance to get the sleeve, and she said I would have to speak to the coordinator. I called the coordinator, but she is on vacation for the next 11 days. I wanted to ask her if it is true that I have to be on a diet for 6 months before I can have the surgery? Does anyone know if that is true? Just2b
