  1. Hallen.....how are you feeling today? I'm doing so much better. Each day gets a little easier. This morning was my first "back to the grind" type morning.....woke up to snow so had to drive all three kids into town, made lunches, dishes, dinner in the crock. It's the little things that make me feel like I can get through this!

I'm already down 10 pounds! Not sure how much of that is "water weight" but it sure felt good stepping on the scale!

I've moved on from just Clear Liquids. I'm doing shakes (very smooth and runny) vanilla yogurt same way, Soups with no chunks. My tummy seemed to be tolerating everything pretty well. I had a sugar free fudge pop last night, wow! It tasted heavenly!

Hope you are doing good. Keep me posted! Take Care.

  2. Thanks all! It really helps to hear others tell me I can do it and to hang in there. I'm defiantly dealing with "head hunger" which is how I got to this point originally. I truly believe I have an addiction to food, and like any other addiction its one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time like its been today. The things I've done for my food! I refuse to wreck my surgery! I'm so determined!

Now if I could get my butt to a meeting!

  3. Bobbiejones27- my last experience 8 years ago was great. We had no problems and Dr. Corvala and all his staff was very nice and professional. This time I'm getting rid of my band and having a sleeve done. I'm getting nervous about post op with this one. It may sound weird but I hope I'm too miserable to be hungry! Last time with the band I was hungry the day after and until I got my first fill.

Good luck and I wish you well! PM me if you want.

  4. Peanuts- I'm having my sleeve done in TJ Mexico on Nov. 26 (coming up so quick!) I'm seeing the same Dr who did my lap band 8+ years ago. His name is Dr. Corvala. He performs the surgery at Angeles Hospital. The hospital is newer, it was not there when I had my band.

Anyhow, you can PM me after my surgery if you want to ask me questions or just see how my experience was.

Good luck to you and sorry for your loss.

  5. My surgery date is Nov. 26 and I'm trying to get my house in order and things prepared, dinners in the freezer for family, schedules written for hubby to drive kids, my question is what should I stock up on for me? Apple juice, broth, anything else anyone can suggest?

Oh, and I should mention, I live in a rural area. So just running to the store real quick isn't an option for me. We do have a Walmart 20 miles away. I just want to be ready and prepared!

    Thanks!

  6. Hello. I'm fairly new here, I've posted a couple times and everyone has been so helpful and kind.

I've scheduled my surgery for Nov 26 in TJ Mexico with Dr. Corvala. I had a lap band place in '05 by the same surgeon and had no problems until Oct 2012. I had it replaced with a new band that month and have had nothing but problems since. I'm ready to get it out! I'm excited to be rid off it but very nervous to be sleeved. I never fully lost al. The weight I wanted but I losses some and was happy and maintaining for all those years till the new band (placed here in the US) has caused havoc on my gut!

Anyhow, my new adventure begins soon and I'm looking for any encouragement and advice. Anyone having surgery this month who would like to be a buddy would be nice.

    I am 5'5' 225 lbs, 39 yrs

    Thanks
