Flu with throwing up ....

Thank you Newat52! I'll take all the hugs I can get! -
I'm so sick. My preschooler brought it home. I've thrown up several times today and am scared about my new tummy. I'm 2 months post op. I'm hoping that it has healed enough that I'm not doing damage.

Flu with throwing up ....

Thank you. My daughter is feeling better so I'm thinking it is a 48 hour bug. Sure is yucky! Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I'm just trying to keep hydrated. -
Hallen.....how are you feeling today? I'm doing so much better. Each day gets a little easier. This morning was my first "back to the grind" type morning.....woke up to snow so had to drive all three kids into town, made lunches, dishes, dinner in the crock. It's the little things that make me feel like I can get through this! I'm already down 10 pounds! Not sure how much of that is "water weight" but it sure felt good stepping on the scale! I've moved on from just clear liquids. I'm doing shakes (very smooth and runny) vanilla yogurt same way, soups with no chunks. My tummy seemed to be tolerating everything pretty well. I had a sugar free fudge pop last night, wow! It tasted heavenly! Hope you are doing good. Keep me posted! Take Care.

Thanks all! It really helps to hear others tell me I can do it and to hang in there. I'm defiantly dealing with "head hunger" which is how I got to this point originally. I truly believe I have an addiction to food, and like any other addiction its one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time like its been today. The things I've done for my food! I refuse to wreck my surgery! I'm so determined! Now if I could get my butt to a meeting!

Surgery was Tuesday, I'm on Day 5, actually only day 3 of clear liquids since the first 2 I was still with an IV. I can tell I'm having way more head hunger at this point than anything else. Hubby just got home from GNC with some isopure, gonna try that. Seriously looking forward to a protein shake next week. Mmmmm.....just remembered I can have a sugar-free Popsicle! "Back to the store hubby!" Haha!

Hey Hallen! My revision was the 26th! No complications. Just got back from Mexico late last night. The last hour in the car was murder! How is your liquid diet going? Have you had broth? I never thought broth could be so heavenly! I actually have been enjoying the herbal tea and broth best, which is weird cause I'm usually a sweets person. Haven't really felt like jello or juice yet.

Help! So Many Variables, Pricing, Etc, Which Is Better?
tjdorsett replied to Peanutz53's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Bobbiejones27- my last experience 8 years ago was great. We had no problems and Dr. Corvala and all his staff was very nice and professional. This time I'm getting rid of my band and having a sleeve done. I'm getting nervous about post op with this one. It may sound weird but I hope I'm too miserable to be hungry! Last time with the band I was hungry the day after and until I got my first fill. Good luck and I wish you well! PM me if you want. -
My surgery date is Nov. 26 and I'm trying to get my house in order and things prepared, dinners in the freezer for family, schedules written for hubby to drive kids, my question is what should I stock up on for me? Apple juice, broth, anything else anyone can suggest? Oh, and I should mention, I live in a rural area. So just running to the store real quick isn't an option for me. We do have a walmart 20 miles away. I just want to be ready and prepared! Thanks!

Janae- I'm having mine the 26th too! Mine will be done in Mexico. Good luck! And pm me, we can be sleeve buddies!

Peanuts- I'm having my sleeve done in TJ Mexico on Nov. 26 (coming up so quick!) I'm seeing the same Dr who did my lap band 8+ years ago. His name is Dr. Corvala. He performs the surgery at Angeles Hospital. The hospital is newer, it was not there when I had my band. Anyhow, you can PM me after my surgery if you want to ask me questions or just see how my experience was. Good luck to you and sorry for your loss. -
What Should I Stock Up On?

Thank you everyone! You've given me some great choices! -
Hello. I'm fairly new here, I've posted a couple times and everyone has been so helpful and kind. I've scheduled my surgery for Nov 26 in TJ Mexico with Dr. Corvala. I had a lap band place in '05 by the same surgeon and had no problems until Oct 2012. I had it replaced with a new band that month and have had nothing but problems since. I'm ready to get it out! I'm excited to be rid off it but very nervous to be sleeved. I never fully lost al. The weight I wanted but I losses some and was happy and maintaining for all those years till the new band (placed here in the US) has caused havoc on my gut! Anyhow, my new adventure begins soon and I'm looking for any encouragement and advice. Anyone having surgery this month who would like to be a buddy would be nice. I am 5'5' 225 lbs, 39 yrs Thanks

Just wondering if anyone has had Dr. Lopez Corvala perform their surgery, also, wondering how Hospital Angeles is? Thanks (p.s. I'm new here) -
Why the pre-op diet?

Thank you everyone! -
I'm in the "research phase" trying to get all the info I can. So.....why the 14 day liquid diet before surgery. How does it benefit surgery?
