I am experiencing a fluttering sensation around my chest, the doctors say that it is not my heart i have had a ECG and all was clear, this seemed to start 2 weeks after my second fill which was 8 weeks ago also my port seems to be slightly bulging and is quiet tender, i am still able to eat most things but haven't lost any weight for 6 weeks, i am due to have my gall bladder removed on the 12th January. Has anybody had this sensation in there chest around the osophecuse area? Thanks Jeannie.

fluttering inside my chest.

Thanks for replying Jeanne. I have thought it may be panic attacks myself, but I am not a big caffeine drinker. I sometimes get them when I'm relaxed or quiet, but once I have had my Gall bladder removed I will see my GP if things haven't improved. I just thought it may have been the band and that others may have had similar experiences. By the way my name is Jeannie C also, and from the UK. -
Hi Mandy, well it could be reflux, it feels like i have butterfly's around my chest were i think the fill goes, if it was to tight i am sure i wouldn't be able to eat without any problems? eating is no problem, sometimes it feels like my heart is twisting round and sometimes i get a rather big thumping sensation in the chest. The Surgeon that is doing my gall bladder is not the same surgeon that did my Band. I had my band done in Prague, i am from England i will ask the surgeon if he could have a look around but i am unsure weather he even knows what to look for. Thanks for your concerns please keep intouch Jeannie.

thanks for your reply Mandy, I think it is a problem with the Band it is around my osophecus area were you get the tightness from a fill. It usually starts in the morning or when i am shouting at my hubby or anyone else around it also stays with me till i go to sleep i am going to ask the surgeon who does my gall bladder op to see if he can check all is OK. THANKS AGAIN. JEANNIE.

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Jeanniepenini replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Wendall, The thread you have posted does explain a lot of things about the Lap band that I was a little unsure about and now is much clearer. I had my surgery in July 2007, and I lost 4.5 kgs over the following 5 weeks, I then hit a plateau and remained static. I then had my first fill of 4cc in early Sept but still didn't lose any more weight even though I appeared to be eating much less. I had my second fill of 2.7cc mid October and am still static. What I cant get my head round is that if I am eating less than I ever have and assuming it is because of the fills, why am I not losing any more weight? Any advice would be appreciated Jeannie -
Hi Lyndsay, I had my Op with Bodies Beautiful and Prof Fried, the Hospital staff and Prof Fried were great, the after care not so good in my opinion, i haven't had any follow up from the hospital and i have had to find my own help, go for the OP dont worry you wont feel hungry until your first fill is due, good luckEmail me anytime. jeannie.

hello, i was banded in prague myself in July, i am from the North West, i found a fill Dr In Manchester, how are you? who was your surgeon, hope all is going well.
-
Hi All, I was banded on July 17th and just had my first fill today 18 Sept of about 4cc. I have a Swedish band called Thor and the Banders..ha ha. Seriously my Swedish band apparently had a little fill already in which I wasn't aware of. Mine was fitted in Prague but I had a refill in Manchester UK as it was nearer and the Doc made me aware of the partial fill when she checked under a Fluoroscope. I am on fluids for 48 hrs then mushie for 24 hrs. I can feel a tightness somewhere in my esophagus but not sure what it is, maybe the restriction? Will let you know how I go on over the next few days. Jeannie

Hi, Do you (or anyone) have details of how to get in touch with The Manchester fill specialist ref Dr Mignon above. I also had my band fitted overseas in Prague any fills I require will be free, but it costs over £150 to fly there inc taxis to the clinic. I'm close to Manchester so it is more convenient. Help anyone????? Jeannie

HELP...urgent advice needed
Jeanniepenini replied to Jeanniepenini's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thanks for your reply, i was banded in prague around 2,000 miles away from were i live in England, i think i will speak to the surgeon again and see if he will give me a fill As soon as possible, otherwise i may have to find a surgeon in England to do the fill. thanks for your reply. -
I had my Swedish Band done 5 wks ago and by the third week I had lost 5 kgs, but now I seem to have stuck at this for the last two weeks. I am now on solids and am eating 4/5 small portions a day. A typical day might be..1 weetabix for B/fast...lunch 1 slimfast or cup a Soup....dinner a small side plate of pork chop salad....late snack either a low fat yogurt or a biscuit. Four cups of Water and 3 brews. My consultant doesn't think i need my first fill till 6 months post op. My start weight was 96.8kgs and I am now 91.6 kgs. I feel a bit disappointed. Am I doing something wrong :cry:help: Jeanniepenini
