Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...
adamfishaa replied to soonerorlater's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery 11 days ago on the 20th of November and I still can see a bit of swelling in my upper stomach area. The pants are falling off of me, my lower stomach is shrinking, but the upper part by my ribs is still puffy... I think its just the last bit of gas that needs to escape. Lol. -
Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...
adamfishaa replied to soonerorlater's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on Nov 20th. I have lost 18lbs since surgery. Almost 40 since the pre op diet.. I am actually feeling kinda fat so its time for a few mile walk with my sister... Hope you are all well! I feel great, sore, but great! -
I'm 8 days post op and I have lost 16lbs... Its normal. And you will be able to take down mouthfulls of water soon, just not one after the other. I find it difficult to find people with my weightloss and recovery time.. Everyone is saying its cause I'm an 18 year old boy my body is just bouncing back... You will be fine in the long run. (:

I cannot even describe how amazing I feel now. I am 6 days post op and it feels like I just did a bunch of stomach work outs. The gas pains are really subsiding and the bloating is down a ton. I have lost 14lbs in 6 freaking days!!! Protein shakes, vitamins, and water. That's my method! Lol. People are even starting to comment on my face and belly shrinkage! I LOVE IT! You guys are in for a great time! -

I am 5 days post op and still have the sanistrips on ny incisions. . I want to put neosporin on them but the strips haven't fallen off yet. How long do they take to come off? Any tips??

Is it crazy that I literally had one small spoon full of jello and felt like I just ate at a buffet...???
-
How long do they take to go away?! It seems that they are the only thing that still hurt!!! I had my surgery 11/20/13, how much longer do I have to endure this pain?! Any tips or tricks to get rid of the gas faster?! Thanks!

Anyone regret WLS and why?
adamfishaa replied to Scorpion11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before my sleeve I was worried about what I could eat after surgery... I had it done on 11/20/13 and could honestly care less about eating! I have been sipping on water and protein shakes and have been doing fine! I am already down 6lbs in just 3 days also! I cannot wait to see how much further this will take me! I am ready to start my new life!!! -
The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!

I took my phone, my charger, chapstick (A MUST), baby wipes, tissues, a few water bottles... And that's pretty much it. I got a puke cup and extra pillows from my hospital nurses who were VERY nice and helpful. -
Things I will NOT miss about being fat.
adamfishaa replied to unbesleevable1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
10 things I won't miss about being fat: 1.) Not being able to ride carnival rides 2.) Not being able to walk on the beach unless I'm in a shirt and shorts to cover my fat 3.) Not being able to fit in restaurant booths too well 4.) Not being able to play football or soccer with my friends because I feel too fat 5.) Having to pull my shirt down constantly because I feel like its stuck in my fat rolls 6.) Having to buy ugly plain clothes that are not what I really want to wear 7.) Having to atand behind people in pictures because I feel too big to be in the front 8.) Having to double check every picture someone has taken of me to make sure they didn't get my 'fat side' 9.) Not being able to run around in the park with my niece 10.) Constantly being frowned upon for being overweight and not able to get the jobs I want because I don't looksl good enough.. There we go! I am only 3 days out, (sleeved on 11/20/13) but I can already feel the change happening! I'm an 18yo boy and I just want to move on with my life!!! -
Good News, Bad News
adamfishaa replied to brwneyedwoman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's so weird because my surgeon pretty much told me that the sleeve was my best bet.. I would ask him if there is any special diet you can do to help your kidney get a little healthier before surgery... I am thrilled with the sleeve, although I am only 3 days out... I would push it on him! I don't see how rearranging your intestines would be easier than just cutting out your stomach... The bypass is also malabsorptive (sp?) So I don't see how you could get all of the nutrients you need to stay healthy... Please keep us posted on your progress!! ♥Adam -

Do you mean your surgery is on 12/30/13? If so, congrats! I had mine on 11/20/13 & I am finally starting to feel normal again. LOL! Stay confident and show all of those doctors that you are ready for a change! It is SO worth it!! -
My Surgery Is Tomorrow!
adamfishaa replied to CrissyRing77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck!!! My surgery was on 11/20/13! The way you feel the first day and after you wake up is only very temporary. I am 3 days out and almost feel normal again! (Besides the not eating and the gas pains) BUT HEY! I have lost 6lbs since I was sleeved! Just make sure that you walk as much as possible and try to sip water. Hope everything goes well! Keep us posted! Also, feel free to message me if you want! I'm looking for some sleeve buddies! Oh yeah, sleep as much as you can too. That really helps. (: -
I have been sipping on water non stop. I am really trying to keep myself hydrated. I was told that the first week or so post op it is most important to try and get down protein and water and avoid eating if you feel you can't do it. Does that sound right to you guys? I was sleeved on 11/20/13 and am still dealing with the gas pains... any early post op advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Just had my surgery on Wednesday (11/20/13) and wanted to know what would be good for my 'meals' while on the liquid phase of the post op diet.. any suggestions??? I know I need water and protein shakes but what can I 'eat'?? And is it more important that I try to get in the water and protien shakes down instead of trying to eat? -
