Post op FIRST time pregnancies
ms.marylou replied to Jaime_Boston's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
So I just found out over the weekend that I am pregnant. I have never had a normal period so I do not know when my LMP was. I am scared though. I am a little over 4 months out from surgery. Ugh...I am so excited but so nervous at the same time. -
I am 5 weeks post op and on soft foods.....thank god. Anyways, I am freaking hungry. I try my hardest not to snack in between meals because I know that is not good. But if I eat at 11 i am hungry by 230-3. And I don't know what to do. I have contacted my hospital staff since they told me anytime I need help to call them but I had to leave a message. Right now I am ok with still being hungry, like some people say that the hunger leaves them but I'm ok having the normal hunger but this wanting to eat every 4-5 hours is not cool. Any ideas on what I can do to help that? Oh I am taking ant-acids

Thank you everyone. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is hungry. Now that I know that I should have 3 meals and 2 snacks I think my attitude will change for the better -

Oh that is so good to know....and they just called me back too. I thought I was losing my mind -
My cramps are not that bad they could be worse. But they hurt in the beginning, what I normally use is ibuprofen like 3. Tylenol never really helped me that much. What can I take to get me through the tuff days?

So im 6 days out and I feel like I could be hungry but im not sure if its hungry or just gas. I've been sipping and sometimes bigger than I should. But it almost feels like it could be a gurgle like empty. I'm just having issues trying to figure out the difference. On a side note. Nothing sounds good. No thinned yogurt. Not Soup. Not Protein shakes. Im just confused

Ok well the doc told me that I had to lose 10-15 lbs. Im scared that I won't hit it alone so im doing my own pre op diet. The doctor does not require me to do it. What would be good pre op drinks

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
ms.marylou replied to HipsAndLipstick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well fingers crossed. (Im still waiting on insurance which kicks in, in January) that my date will be the 13th of jan. I have pretty much everything done just need my psych and classes besides the ekg scope and such. I already have had the class before and have seen a psych before too. But that was last year. Im hoping and praying that this year will be the winner. Just wish my friend could have it done the same day :-( -
Hello all. Well yesterday I had my meeting with my surgeon. He was helpful and we are on track of what we need to do. I have just about everything set up except my official surgery date since I do not have the insurance yet we are waiting to make sure it covers it. He had told me to lose 10-15lbs and I was just so excited about getting everything started it didn't sink in with me that it might be hard to lose some of the weight....I know it's not a lot but I'm afraid to let him/me down. What I am thinking is starting an Akins diet right now.....and cutting out pop like all sorts of pop. Does anyone have any idea's that have worked for you?

Ok so I am pre op and hopefully having surgery in January if the insurance gods allow. But my worry is, if everything is going well and I am losing weight in which I hope to. How well does the fannie pack go away. I understand that everyone is different and some major changes/hard work is going to happen. But I don't think I would be able to get that taken care of if the amount of skin is still there. Sorry If this is kinda random im on lunch and watching steve wilkos.

I completely understand....this is not cosmetic for me. I am about a 55 - 60 BMI. It is totally health realitated why I am planning on getting this done. But my concern was I am already getting sever heat rashes under the fannie pack against my legs and neather reagoin. That is why I was asking if it would shrink at all. I know it will be lighter than it is now but still. I am just hoping that everything goes fine and it is less painful than it is now.

Sleep Study Last Night
ms.marylou replied to SuperFab's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a cpap and I love it....I enjoy actually sleeping through the night now. -
I am so ashamed of what I have become. I am at the heaviest I have ever been. I can't believe that I let it get this far. I will hopefully be able to get vgs in January. When I get my new insurance. I dont want to have sex with my fiancée or fiance which ever. I don't like to think about me being naked let alone having someone see me. Blah. Time to go to sleep and hopefully wake up with my emotions back in check so I wont feel anything.
