A few protein reviews
roundisashape replied to roundisashape's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
So I feel bad, now, saying anything bad about Chike. They're such nice people! I ordered the sample pack, and someone called me this week to talk about the order and how I liked it, etc. That kind of customer service makes the shakes taste a little better . Tried the chocolate one the other day, mixed with milk, and it had a funny aftertaste. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as some other brands of chocolate. I also tried the coffee Chike yesterday morning, and that one was good. Strong coffee flavor - it really masked the protein! -
That's great, congratulations!

Don't you hate when doctors blame everything on your weight?
roundisashape replied to Disabledaccount's topic in Rants & Raves
That's just the worst. I went to the ER for pain and actually got laughed at. No imaging, nothing - they didn't take me seriously at all and the doctor acted like he didn't want to touch me. Wound up being a giant ovarian mass and a twisted tube. I didn't get treated until I went to a different ER, and by then it had wrapped around my intestines and I almost died. You'd think anyone who goes to medical school would come out understanding that they're going to have fat patients from time to time, and they may even have to touch them! -
favorite NSV's/most anticipated NSV's

Butter, I have that apprehension as well. One of my coworkers lost a lot of weight and forgets to wear pants sometimes - I feel like I can see inappropriate on other people, but have no idea how to detect it on myself! Clearly after I have surgery I'll be posting a lot of, "Does this make me look ridiculous?" pictures on the board! -
Thank you! I am so looking forward to this!

Can I just tell you how excited I am? I've put off surgery 3 times in the past - once because I lost my job (and my insurance), and twice because my insurance changed to one that didn't cover surgery during open enrollment or only covered a band or a bypass (which I knew I couldn't live with). I'm almost 4 months through my 6 month pre-op weight management program and we just got our open enrollment packet yesterday. FINALLY getting to go from one year to another without a change! I might actually get to have the surgery this time! Yay!

A few protein reviews

I've been hearing a lot about Premier around the board - it definitely needs to make my "try" list! Thanks for all the great tips, too. I'm really excited about the coffee idea, It's probably a bad thing, but I'm 35 and just started regularly drinking it a few months ago. -
I think you look great! That dress fits you perfectly!

Nice! I have a friend with a Costco membership, I'll get her to let me tag along one day. -

Ooh, thanks for the tip! I'll have to see if I can find some of that! -
Thank you! Seems like a trivial thing to get excited about, but now that this particular unknown has been dealt with, it feels real

Turnaround for test results?
roundisashape replied to tigermom12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If the nutritional evaluation is a blood test, depending on which lab you use it could take a few days. I used to work for a lab and some samples would either have to be shipped to other locations or only set up to run on the instrument once or twice a week for tests they didn't do as often. I hope things go quickly and smoothly for you! -

That has to be one of my favorite before/after pants pictures ever. Fantastic job on your loss - very inspirational!
