Hi. I am new. I had my sleeve in Puerto Vallarta Mexico on Oct 9th/13. My surgeon was Dr. Castenada. I am doing pretty well surgery was a breeze and not painful. The drains were the worst part. I am slowly starting puréed foods and soft foods and tolerating it well. I just started taking my pills whole instead of crushing, thankfully as they were nasty. I am happily down 19lbs! Well, just thought I would say hello!

I had surgery on oct 9th/13. So I am just over 2 weeks post op. I am having trouble sleeping. So many changes are happening with my body. I am relearning what hungry and full feels like, drinking more water than I ever have, drinking decaf tea...used to always be coffee. Adjusting to portions, thinking before I eat whatever I want. Sooooo many changes!!! I feel I am mostly doing well but I have moments of being overwhelmed, even jittery feeling. So cold too. Almost like when I have been emotionally upset and I am shaking from the inside. Does that make sense? I also have a blood clot on the side of my stomach. I have very damaged veins from a previous blood clot many years ago. Thank God this one is superficial. Still, I have anxiety and fear that it will move, even though my dr. Says it won't. I am petrified. I think that's my main reason I am scared to sleep, fear I won't wake up. The skin where the blood clot is formed is also very red, inflamed and tender. I have been going for IV meds at the hospital as an outpatient. Plus taking oral antibiotics. So,, once this is resolved I hope I can have some rest and not worry so much. I have a husband, two children ages 4&6 that need me. Glad there is this support group, somehow it's therapeutic just to write this out and tell someone and not be judged.

Overtired and can't sleep-so many changes

I think I will talk to him Monday. I used to have to take zoplicone during very stressful events in my life. Thank you for reminding me to ask for help if I need it. -
It was a nervous yet exciting time for me. The surgery itself was quite painless. I experienced more pain with my gull bladder surgery and bouts of pancreatitis. My advice is to follow your physician/nut/surgeons orders and u will be just fine. Following the phases back to reg diet is so important so we can let our new sleeve heal properly. Prepare for a life changing experience. I am only 18 days post op and there are tons of changes, totally thinking differently about food. Best of luck and I look forward to hear your progress!

Hi. I am Suzanne from Saskatchewan Canada. I am 40 years young and I am happily married for 12 years. We have 2 gorgeous children that came to us through adoption. Our son, now 6 yrs old came home with us at 3 days old, only 5lbs and straight from the hospital. Our daughter now 4 came home at one day old also straight from the hospital at 8 lbs, 3oz. We overjoyed to be their parents. I love to play guitar and sing, mostly country music. I love spending time with family, my parents and friends. My mom has Alzheimer's and that's an emotional journey, but I cherish our time together. I am a work at home mom. I have struggled with my weight all my life, just because I love food. I became diabetic and had high blood pressure and cholesterol so I decided I needed to do this surgery so I hopefully can be around to watch my children grow. That's me in a nutshell
