  1. Okay so the past few days have taken a toll on me. I can barely get in my protein and water. My stomach tightens up after a few sips and it's quite painful. I've been sipping for the past few days. I have no energy to do anything. I am able to get my vitamins and supplements. I ordered Unjury and it will be here tomorrow. I got Mocha, Chicken Soup, Vanilla, and a couple packets of strawberry sorbet. My doc recommended it as it is not as thick as regular protein shakes and he also said that I should be drinking whey protein isolate, not concentrate. The scale hasn't moved since my last loss. I try not to weigh everyday but you know how that is lol. I promised myself that I won't weigh again until next Wednesday. I had my sleeve done Oct 30th, a little over a week ago. My doc said to give it one more week and I should be on track since my body is still healing. What do you guys think? Any advice? Comments? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  2. Congratulations to you both!!!!!
  3. Welcome to the pre op side!!! As far as the gas, best thing to do is walk for 30 minutes or so daily. Don't lay in bed all day, try to prop yourself up on some pillows at an incline.
  4. Officially one week out. I've lost a total of 12.1 pounds. Started at 265 pre op. One issue I had in the hospital was dehydration. My body would not let go of the IV fluids. The nurse would come in and measure my urine output in the 'hat' over the toilet. She asked if I drank a lot of water at home and I have to be completely honest, I hate water. Since I've been back home, I sip water throughout the day. I causes my stomach to clench up. So I tried drinking it at room temperature and I felt better. I'm having acid reflux especially in the middle of the night. I can still tell that my body is holding on to the water, any advice on this?? Also, I am still on soft liquids of my diet. I'm finding it very hard to get in all of my protein too. I get so full very fast. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
  5. I only had ice chips while in the hospital.
  6. I am 1 week post op as of tomorrow. I purchased Hylauranic Acid supplements which helps with skin elasticity. Also, moisturizing your skin right after the shower while your skin is still damp is the best. It traps the water in your skin keeping it soft and supple. Frequent exfoliations helps rid of dead skin cells and you don't have to spend a fortune doing so; take a plastic bowl and add Sugar in The Raw then add Olive oil until you have a nice paste. Use in the shower three to four times a week. Be careful, it gets very slippery in the shower!
  7. The pumpkin spice flavor is a tad too sweet for me. So I dilute it with water and ice.
  8. So I was sleeved yesterday here in Mexico and it went very well. The doctor and his staff are amazing. I wasn't in any pain until today. I think I did too much walking around this morning. I was able to drink about an ounce of water. It hurt my tummy. It was too cold. So I let it sit at room temp for a while then took another sip and felt fine. I got like 3 hours of sleep last night! Jet lag is real. But I always get like that the first day especially traveling from the East Coast. Oh and Dr quinones is very nice and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions even though I had spoke to him over the phone several times before. I feel totally secure. I traveled alone. My fiancé just started a new position and could get the days off. But I feel safe here at the hospital. Tomorrow I go to the hotel where there is nursing staff there as well. I'm looking forward to the broth! I am worried about the first few weeks and protein intake. I guess I will take it one day at a time.
  9. I went through Santa Fe Medical Group, Dr quinones. My total surgery plus hotel (my surgery date is tomorrow) is 4200. The round trip airfare from Pittsburgh to San Diego was 375 with one 45 min stop in DC.
  10. Another great thing is Biotin. I've been taking it for three months now and my hair is thick and growing like wild weeds. I'll continue to take it after my surgery. I'm a licensed cosmetologist as well. But I like to handle hair and scalp conditions with a more natural and holistic approach. A good oil for massaging the scalp is jojoba oil because it mimics the natural oil on the scalp called Sebum. Garlic supplements also can help prevent thinning hair and breakage.
  11. Hello all!!! Well tomorrow is my big day and I'm so nervous! I'm getting sleeved by Dr. Quinones in Mexico. I'll get to San Diego (the driver from the hospital will meet me there and drive over the border) around 10:45am so I'm having the surgery the same day. I've purchased everything I'll need when I get back. Has anyone else been sleeved by Dr. Quinones? What was your experience like? The hospital? The hotel?
