Wendyn I have those same feelings too and my weight loss has slowed dramatically but I just figure there is no way we won't lose weight given the amount we are eating. I think our bodies are adjusting to these low calories. I know my body was used to being well fed. This surgery works for so many people, I am just trying to be patient and enjoy the ride. Best of luck to you.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...
nancym90 replied to soonerorlater's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Teresa RN. No worries. The stall will end. And the scale will start to move. You are doing everything right. Take a deep breath, keep up the good work, and the scale will be moving before you know it. -

Best way to get out of a stall ! Throw your scale out the window. I just got out of a stall luckily my scale battery died so I didn't drive myself completely insane. -
Philly here. Was sleeved on 11/12/13 by Dr Ramachandra at Mercy Fitzgerald. Down 30 lbs so far and starting to feel like myself again.

Hi all. I bought a bunch of this Kiwi strawberry protein powder, mixed it with water and it tasted awful to me. I'm wondering if anyone has any good recipes for a shake using this flavor. This stuff ain't cheap. I don't wanna waste it. Lol

Sleeved 11/12/13, down 26 lbs but hit the week three stall. Read about it on here. Figured nah, won't happen to me. Now I'm just hoping it doesn't last too long. Also had my first real bout of constipation. What fun ! Was shaking from the pain. Also feel like I can't tell if I'm hungry, nauseous, sick, in pain. Very confusing time right now. I'm keeping my head up. No regrets. The dr warned me these first months are rough ! Good luck everyone. -
Back To Work Tommorow--Need Words Of Wisdom
nancym90 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So tomorrow is the big day. Back to work after 3 weeks recovering from VSG surgery. Planning to weigh and pack my lunch and breakfast. Sip on my decaf tea throughout the day. I'm worried about being tired, running out if energy. Any advice or words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. By the way, I'm a hospital pharmacist, the job can be mentally and physically demanding at times. -
Hi all. I'm almost 2 weeks post op and the mornings are rough. Does anyone else experience this? I feel nauseous, usually have diarrhea, and am in pain. It goes away as the day goes on but I'm starting dread waking up everyday.

What Damage Have I Done?
nancym90 replied to lose.n.8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry that you would come here looking for advice and be verbally attacked by some. I'm 17 days post op. It's rough, we question a lot of things. As for your question, you have done no damage. Every surgeon is different. Mine had me on a full liquid diet by 3 days post op and the items you used for your shake are all considered full liquids. My dr is very against protein shakes and in favor of chewing your food and getting your protein in a more natural way. Don't beat yourself up. You can do this, everyday gets a little better and no worries your sleeve is fine. -
So I'm 2 and 1/2 weeks out and I survived thanksgiving. I thought I would be fine and I was when it came to the food. I had some turkey and asparagus and green been salad. When I say some i mean hardly any. The thing that surprised me is that I felt like an outsider cause I couldn't fully partake in all of the festivities. It was an odd feeling for me. Anyone else experience this?

I'm 2 and 1/2 weeks out and I miss my soda. I miss my big gulp filled with 80% diet coke and the rest cherry coke. With a good amount of ice. My cousin actually said that diet coke stocks were down since my surgery. I think about my healing stomach and the acid bubbly soda hitting it and that seems to help my soda cravings. For now..... Hahaha

Smooth Recovery? Anyone?
nancym90 replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Luck Lyn, you will be fine. I am a hospital pharmacist and I think working in the healthcare field makes it a little scarier for us. Lol. Remember complication rates are low with this surgery and you are in good hands. You'll do great. -
I must say the best fluid that is going down for me is decaffeinated hot tea. It has been the only thing I can drink that makes me feel normal.

Smooth Recovery? Anyone?
nancym90 replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I am 10 days post op and I have to say that this is not by any means easy for me. I some how read these threads pre op and was expecting things to go smoother. It is not awful by any means and I have no regrets and am down 18 lbs. I have to keep reminding myself everyone is different. I was starting to feel like a failure for not having as good a recovery as everyone else. Saw my Dr for my post op apt yesterday and he said everything was fine. Be prepared for pain, nausea, diarrhea, I had awful headaches, fear of food, missing food, feeling lonely, having second thoughts. You may or may not have these feelings but I think if you are prepared for the possibility of them your recovery will go easier. That was one of the harder things for me to deal with because I really didn't think it was going to be this difficult. All of the things I mention are transient and can be dealt with. I hope you have a great recovery but if you don't i don't want you to feel like a failure as I did. Best of luck to you. -
Thanks for the input and encouragement. I needed that

So I was sleeved on 11-12-13. Got home from the hospital on Thursday night. Yesterday was my first day home. I had 2 yogurts, one Greek, and about 6 oz of a protein shake. I got in at least 40 additional ounces of fluid like water and decaf tea. Is this acceptable ? I have no idea if I am feeling hunger pains or pain for surgery. Stomach is very sore. I'm on full liquids.

Hi guys new to this site and feeling a little down. I'm day 3 post op and have had non stop headaches since surgery. I always had headaches before surgery but was not expecting this hurdle. I am drinking and manged to get 1/2 a yogurt down. I am continually drinking so as not to get dehydrated. I believe the headaches are menstrual or caffeine withdrawl related
