  1. My sleeve surgery was July 14, 2014; I am now almost 4 weeks out. My surgery was a bit complicated; had a Realize gastric band removed due to some complications & had a ventral hernia repair done as well. I had 8 incisions in all; 3 are 3" long. So my physical recovery has been slower than normal. I cannot lift anything over 5lbs for 2 more weeks yet. But overall I feel great! A bit sore & really tired of mush, oh yes! But having had the gastric band for almost 4 years I knew what was in store; the post-op diet is so similar. I was so looking forward to this & I am not disappointed. I am being a good patient, which is very unusual for me LOL but I don't want to screw this up. I am 63 years old so I am almost at the age limit for being approved for bariatric surgery; I don't care as much about "reaching my goal" as I do for just getting more healthy! So my "goal" is to not have to take blood pressure & cholesterol meds! I will be following this thread; good luck to all!

    Ditching the protein shakes

Try the Atkins Advantage shakes (I get mine at WalMart); I like the vanilla. I can add strawberries or blueberries for a treat.
