Hello to all of you July Bandsters.... it's been a while since I wrote or even dropped in... I didn't go for my second fill, as it was 3 days before our fasting month of Ramadan, and we hardly get one or two meals a day... one in the evening after sunset and a light one before sun rise... I thought I was hardly eating and drinking... I am doing ok... but to be honest, the I believe it is the fear of any pain from eating is responsible for loosing the weight... I have lost about 15 kgs. that is about 36 pounds... I am always afraid to eat, I don't want to feel the pain of food being stuck or the feel of throwing out... My main problem is still the pain in my neck and right shoulder... I had to go to a neorologyst, and he said it is not the band but most likely when they put me to sleep they have moved my neck in a way that is causing me this pain... I am sure it will go one day... but the fact that it is still there.... a bit better... but the medication I am taking is making me sleepy most of the time... But let me be honest, while I am at work, I am ok, as long as I don't type a lot or use my right hand that much.. I hope we keep up on supporting each other... I know I have to go for a fill after our fasting month, and that would be after 20 days.... to be honest... I don't feel like it, but I guess I have to... bye for now...:notagree

It's my right shoulder dear.... the pain is coming from my back neck to my right shoulder.... it is painfull, I can't turn my face to the right... I feel like a robot... I am trying to get an appointement from a Neurologist ... I am really worried... As for the left shoulder sometimes I do feel a spasm, I guess it is because of the port.. as they fix it on the left side... a normal pain killer doesn't do anything to me... my husband who is an ER doctor had to give a shot yesterday... I was in so much pain... If I get to see the Neurologist today I will post his response, I know one think is that I did X-rays and my neck was normal... Here things are more flexible than the States... you can go and see the doctor on the same day when you want to.... is it possible to send me a copy (if it is electronic) or a link to the info you have about a right shoulder pain???? PLS.:huggie::)

Unfortunatly... it is because of the operation, I never had this before. It started after 24 hours of the surgery.... I was much more painfull the first week, now it is less in 50%, but still have it... I guess it is because they had my head in a wrong position on OR table.... I have asked my Dad's frined who is very well known surgeon here, he said some people get this for about 3 moths.... I do hope it doesn't stay that long.... today is my first day of inservice at school.... and by Sep.9th... school will start... I am the head of the IT department and I teach at the same time.... But still fatigue... so.... I need prayers....

I don't know what to tell you Lindaa..... I just want to drink enough water.... some times I feel I don't want food, and ready to stay on liquids.... but if liquids is a porblem.... what should I do?......

Oh my God.... you guys make thinks sound easy, but it is not what I feel! I am ashemed of all of you, I had my surgery July 21st. stayed on liquids for 4 weeks, lost 9 Kgs. had my first fill this past Sat. Aug. 18th... till now I feel affraid of eating... whenever I get the courage to eat, I cut whatever for small tine squres... I hardly finish five of them before feeling the stuck in my stomach.... I don't need to tell you how painfull..... and you can't drink anything, coz it will get worse... OH my GOD.... I keep walking all over the house.. to get some gas out of my mouth and then afterwards, of course I will not go near the kitchen..... Though some bandsters advised me of drinking some tea or Soup before eating, to relax the stomach... but I still can't adjust to that.... OH pls. HELP..... I don't care about food as much as for pills to stop the pain that I still have in my neck after the surgery... it is getting a bit better, but still need to take pills that makes you fell the pain of the stuck.... Thank you verymuch for your response, I was dieing for some one to answer...my doctor was so negative with me, and I am sure it was because of the surgery.... Ok... well... I geuss I have to live with it till its' over.... but what makes things hard is that after the fill it is not easy to take pills...... pls. support me to survive eating and drinking after the fill.... when I see that some of you got 5cc. from the first fill, I get horrified, I was filled 1.75 and still is afraid of drinking Water or any kind of liqudes... I am afraid of eating... after he 4th or 5th bite I fell showeked and a huge pain in my stomack, I don't know how am I going to get used to it... sometimes, I feel like missing the liquids diet, at least you drank and never was in pain..... What is making things bad I guess... is that I am used to drink a lot of water (more than 2-3 big bottles), and now I am affraid to take a sip... Pls. Kaboom help from your experience... you have been band for a long time... Wen to be honest I am taking a lot of pain killers... I am fed up, I have to go back to work this Sunday... I am an administrator at a school... and time has come to go... I still feel tired if I am out of the house for more than 2 hours. and can't really move my neck to the sides comfortabley and completely.... I did X-rays for my neck and everything is normal.... Kaboom do you advise me to go back to gas-X? thanks guys :think

Thank you for you suggestion, I will try to dring some hot liquids like tea or green tea, but I thought we shoulden't be drinking with a meal... yesterday night I was trying to eat tiny small peaces of a peach, I tell you it wasn't easy... I had to wait for more thank 15-20 min to burp...to get some comfort... I don't know if I am being a nagger or whining....I don't know really when I will get used to the fill, I am supposed to fill again after two weeks and a half... and after that in 4 days it would be the month of Ramadan (FAsting), I don't think I will go... it is the month when we Muslims, don't eat between sun rise till sun down... and then have a light meal.. another one before sun rise. Do you think it will be wise to fill before the fasting month?..... I have filled now for 4 days and still can't get back to my normal habits of drinking water... I used to drink around 2 liters of water daily.. this was a habit that I can't get back to... and this is really bothering me... I am a water drinker.... I am affraid that the fear of the pain of entering anything to my stomach is contronling me...... I don't know if any of you out there has my fears... pls. share them with me....... Maria

Hi there,... I had my first fill this Saturday, they filled 1.75cc... I don't know how wise was that... I still can't manage to eat or drink... the pain is driving me crazy.... I tried to eat a slice of peach now, and I tell you I am waiting desperatly for the burp, it might loosen the pain in my stomach... pls. help me, today I even had the idea of going back to liquids, but the problem is that you can't drink liquid as we could before the fill..... it is TUFF....

Hello to All of you out there.. I was banded on July 21st., everthing was normal until after 48 hours of my surgery.. suffered form a very very bad pain in my back neck... and it affected my shoulders... I have read some of the responses of the July group, and they all said it is because of the gas they pumb in you... and that it will go after 10 days max.... I it is now 1 month... the pain is still there... and it strengthen more after any extra effort.. I asked the Doctor, and he had now answer.... Pls. Pls. Pls.... does any of you specially the ones who have been banded serveral months ago.. have suffered from such symptoms..?.. I had my first fill this Satruday the 18th... he filled 1.75... Hi, My name is Maria, I did my operation about a month ago on the 21st, I had problems with gas for about 4-5 days, but as I read at the group of july banded girls, I kept taking Gas-X for 10 days to make sure I am fine. But what is really bothering me and driving me crazy especially now after the first fill is the neck pain that still is driving me crazy, now swallowing the pills isn't easy... but just now I found that I have to take it when I am standing up... if you need any more questions pls. feel free to ask... Hi all, I can't tell you how shocked I am, I've away just for yesterday, and there is A LOT of replies... I don't know if I should envy any of you, I am still on liquids, I am surviving, I take very liquidy soups... yesterday only once... Our real day off is Friday here, and my falks always come for lunch which is the main meal here. I did perfect, they had Itlain food, several kinds... believe me... veeeeeeeery delicious, but I did well, had vegetable soup, hand mixed it and had some, I was ok... I don't know if I mentioned how much I keep telling my friends about all of you.. yesterday we had over my DH friends for card game night.. they are all doctors... they made me feel good, and my surgeon was one of them, he checked on me and everything looked wonderful except for a one stitch (inner one) on the port side.. he took it off. He was happy that I got off the neck-shoulder pain..... For those who may get banded... it was horrible, but with the support of all my friends at here at lucky 07 banderster... it made me feel great and that this is normal... I want to try the broccli and chesse soup, I guess I have to move to the thread and take the ingrediants.... Thanks again to all of you out there for all of your support and help... It is now 9:20 am, and in Syria this is the first day of the week, I have to start my work, I need to enter more that 2000 records to a database that I supervise at the ALC (American Language Center) here in Damascus, thank God I do this at home... and don't have to leave the house for this...... till I finish and need to print... I have two jobs... this one.. which is a part time and do most of he work home, and I work in a privat school as the Computer Director... Thank God again... school won't be on till 10 days more... Hope to hear from all of you... I need to go back to my records.. :angry and then keep up with all the pain from typing this much data...:ranger: by the way.... I have been wondering if anybody can advise me of what steps should all of us go through to avoid a surgery after a year or two and after we lose all this weight.... I personally don't want to do any reconstructive surgery.... :help: pls. help, espcially that I had 3 C-sections... bye for now...

Auntie Phyl ... this great, how did you do that.... are you aloud to eat solids...... my Dr. said that I can only have liquids for 4 weeks.... But let tell you all something... yesterday I was hungry so I added some Frosties to my milk and then worked with the elctrical hand mixer... it was just like a soup and tasted great... "I don't know if this is right... but it is a bit thick liquid....??????""

Hi everybody, I have been trying to post for the past 4 days, every time when I am done, the stupid internet goes down and failed to post anything... Jeanie, I have tried to past the URL in the signature field but it keeps on giving me ( invalid file), I don't know really what is wrogn.. I went up the scale this morning, and found that I have lost 6 kgs. that's about 13 lbs. I don't know if this is enough I was band at the 21st. If any one would like me to give them out the reciepe of the soups I am making just tell me, yesterday I had a half cup of squash soup. otherwise I am taking juice with skimed milk and most more that 2 liters of water....
