    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I'm getting in about 600-700 my Dr said between 600-800 in week 5/6 (sleeved 6/17). I would up your Water and reduce calories a little... how do you get in 900 calories? My doctor has very little limits at this stage so I have a couple of Protein drinks ... that is 320 cal. I snack on beef Jerky and almonds. Normally a 150 - 300 calories in a day depending on what and the amount. I eat fish, burger, tuna fish, canned chicken or something like that for dinner. That is usually 3 to 4 ounces and typically good for 300 calories. Normally adds up to around 700 - 900 calories. Probably should note that I am a male and I don't know if that makes a difference.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Curious what calorie intake others are having. I was sleeved 6/19 and am running in the 700 - 900 range. I am losing weight but it is slowing down. It was pretty crazy there for awhile around a pound a day.

Very minor topic, but Surgery Scars?

I had surgery on 6/19/14 and 4 of the 5 look like scratches. I don't think they will scar hardly at all. The one on the side is a little puckered and may leave a mark.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I am wondering how many calories people are getting in. I was sleeved 6/19 and am getting around 650. Plenty of Protein and low carbs. I am also eating deli meats and cheese with no issues as long as I eat really slow and chew everything thoroughly.

    Lessons learned

I was sleeved on 6/19 too. I am surprised at the kind of food that I have been able to eat. Like a part of a hamburger that I chewed until my jaw was sore. I am only able to get in around 650 to 700 calories a day though. I wonder where everyone else is at or if that is a lot. I know it is nothing compared to 2 months ago!

    Stall EVERY 3 weeks?

I am new to this but even from past weight loss, I know that weight might not move but body composition does. I did not get sleeved to look good but for health reasons. With that being said, a wonderful byproduct will be looking nicer. Sorry I got off topic. What I really wanted to say is that I find the way my clothes are not fitting each day is more important to me than the weight that I am losing. I have not measured myself other than with the belt that I will quickly need to replace that I could barely buckle a mere month and a half ago. I will take the advice of measurement from people as I believe that is more important. Can anyone recommend what to measure. I would assume neck, biceps, chest, waist, thigh and calves. Any other areas?

    Hunger Pains

Just an update. I am 6 days out now. The first 2 were difficult. I am absolutely shocked about how much I could care less about eating. In 6 days I have had: 2 - 3 tbs of low fat cottage cheese 5 tb of chicken broth 1 sugar fee popsicle 2 containers of sugar free Jello 4 or 5 premier Protein drinks Water, water and more water 6 DAYS I need more protein and am starting to work it in. I have never really had this sensation before. I don't know how long it will last but I plan on taking advantage and not letting my head hunger get in the way of making some serious progress.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I'm with you jcream. I like premier the best. I have also tried BSN and like it but that is the only powder one that I have been able to stomach. I am 6 days out and only drinking with sugar free popsicles and jello. Hope to start some soft food this weekend.
  11. Hope so. I have surgery in 2 days and am getting nervous. 46 years old and never have had a surgery since I was a baby. Wonder how many people have thoughts of backing out? I won't but can't say it hasn't crossed my mind.

    Day 4, SO hungry :(

I agree that it does get better. I am on day 6 and yesterday I forgot to have a Protein drink that I could have had. The first 3 days I counted down the minutes until I could have that drink like it was a drug or something.
  13. Getting a sleeve on the 19th and hope I have to worry about this in the next year or two.

    Hunger Pains

Thank you Joatsaint and Familyguy. I don't think I will have a problem eating Protein first then vegetables. When it comes to food, I have no favorites. I like them all equally. I have scheduled for June 19th and am very excited (and scared). I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those decisions that I will be very happy with and wonder why I stressed about it so much. I am also very conservative with my money so being a self pay will be an extra benefit for me to want to get my money's worth. I know this is not the major reason but tightwads like me think this way. Thanks again for the comments and I will be checking back and updating. By the end of the summer, my plan is to be providing information to other people contemplating this surgery.

    Hunger Pains

Thank you for the feedback. I am pretty sure that I am going to move ahead and schedule to be sleeved around mid June. Big decision obviously from a lifestyle perspective as well as being self pay. I would like any feedback from anyone on increasing my chances for success. I have really struggled with the ability to control hunger and hope this will be the tool that will help me with that aspect.

    October Sleevers - Men's Room

Thanks for the info. I have studied this so much that I feel like now I am overthinking it. I went to a support group last night here locally and spoke with a lady who is a year out. Talked about some of these things and she told me that you can't imagine it until you have done it. Guess I can relate because I feel that way about being a parent. By the way, she looked amazing. Seeing those results really get me excited about the procedure even though I know the effort and price because I am going to have to be self pay.

    October Sleevers - Men's Room

Thanks for posting. I am still researching vertical and I will be self pay. I am extremely nervous about it. I have never had a surgery except when I was an infant. I can definitely relate to being scared. What I can't relate to is only being able to eat 3 ounces of food and be satisfied. Has anyone else felt the same way?
