I completely relate to this- I’m a single mum to daughters age 2 and 4, this was a big deal but think of why we do this, I’m flying back to the UK tomorrow and can’t wait to see them, it’s been almost like an out of body experience but you made this decision and they will wholeheartedly benefit from seeing you happier at the end. You can totally do this xx

Hi there, The nurses seem lovely although the language barrier is daunting. Mind you hearing that your body is 38% fat is no good in any language!! So surgery is 8am tomorrow- I am nervous but excited. X

So my journey is a different, I am 36, British and I weigh 96kgs , but at 5ft 8 my BMI is 30 I am not eligible for this within our healthcare system so I’m electing to do this, I’ve raided my savings and have flown to Turkey to have a surgeon complete a Gastric Sleeve. My motivation is two fold, being more healthy for my young daughters and also to make a lifestyle change for my own benefit. I want this change now in my life. I’m a bit nervous, surgery is tomorrow and I am just landing in a foreign country where I don’t speak the language! Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I can join you October sleevers tomorrow for the next steps. Eeeekkk!

Hi Bandwagon, I totally agree with you. Sometimes, I wake up and think, and I'll start the day with a couple of cherry bakewells then munch through crisps etc.. (you gather my gist) then othr times I think the more I give up now the better advantage I will give myself in the long run. I am to be banded in Belgium on the 10th September and can't wait, but need to stick to giving myself the best advantage. Ive seen all this talk about pre-op dieting but can't quite work out which is best. I think we need to just step away from the cake! Skodes

Hi Bunny, your info has been a god send, and given me lots of piece of mind! I'm booked with Dr Dillimans on the 10th of September 07 and can't wait, i'm also taking your advice and taking my mum with me. But firstly I have a couple of questions, which I hope you can help with... I booked the surgery only option so I think it works out at around £3076 but does this include refils? If not how much are they and do I need to book them in advance? Hope you can help!! Sophie
