So my sleeve (George when he's grumpy Veronica when she complies) is quite deceptive. I was ranging 165-170 for almost 2 months and was very happy at that weight. Now I weigh 160.4 and a little fearful of entering the 150s cause everyone tells me I'm too skinny already and that I should have stopped losing 30 pounds ago lol HW: 293 back in 2009-2010 SW: 237ish CW: 160.4 (yikes) TPL: since heaviest about 133 TGP: from VSG day weight 62. Total lbs. loss since surgery: about 77 Height 5'7" Vsg 12.12.13 -

HW (High Weight) 293 in 2009 SW (Surgery Weight) 237-8 CW (Current Weight) 165.8 TPL (Total Pounds Lost) since SW about 72, since 2009 about 127 TGP (Total Goal Pounds) I originally planned to maintain 175 ish pounds so 118 tgp from highest or 63 tpg from SW. Been fluctuating between 165ish to 169 past month so I hope this range is my body set level cause I don't want to lose anymore. I'm toning up nicely with the help of my kickass hot yoga sessions, spin classes, moderate jogging and weight training. I am so addicted to the high of exercise theses days, I worked out prior to surgery too and always loved the feel good benefits, but I'm just so fully committed these days cause I don't want this surgery to be in vain. I want to maximize the assistance my sleeve provides me with in maintaining weightloss. Fitness also helps prevent me from smacking ppl, haha! Vsg 121213 -

Wow wow wow!! Congrats everyone!! Keep up the phenomenal work!! December sleevers ROCK!! -
Yes the hormone grehlin gets removed when the greater part of the stomach is excised dueing vsg. not sure how it goes for bypass or Lapband patients. Some of the hormone is likely to return but it appears that this works differently in each person cause I feel no hunger at all even tho I'm 6 months out. Google "vsg grehlin" for more info

Yup jersey girl. Def let me know! Lol @ little bites indeed
-
Hey hun I'm already sleeved since 121213 will be 6 months post op on June 12
-
I'll be 6 months out on June 12 and no physical hunger ever in that time -- I miss food and I like the way things taste but no appetite or hunger -- I feel like I'm the exception tho cause many ppl say they feel it same day out of wls not head hunger cause we all have that from time to time .... I hear some ppl 1 year out don't have hunger either so weird

I'm in jersey too in the oranges

Omg u are doing amazing!! 66 pounds down in less than 6 months!! How tall are u? I'm down 70 due to major food intolerances Vsg 121213 Sw 237 CW 166ish at 5'7" -
I think mine was bad because of the type it was esophageal you can google it -- felt like 6 bricks lodged in my chest -- roxicet and dilaudid did help but it was tough for a good month and even now I'm on meds carafate nexium Pepcid cause of all the painful tugging sensation I have spoken to other people who ha different types of hernias repaired and they were perfectly ok post op Vsg was my first and only major surgery to date

HW 293 (nov 2009) SW 237ish (12/12/2013) CW 166.6 at 5'7" Slipped right into size 6 skirts & dresses today at "the gap" & "the limited" stores. Kinda happy kinda frustrated cause I recently stocked up on some 8s and 10s lol didn't think my body would allow me to go into 8s nonetheless 6s. Groceries and takeout savings is going straight into new wardrobe fund, smh this wls journey is so unpredictable Congrats everyone!!! Follow me on IG @sleever1212 -
Hair fall out is no joke -- I cut 85% off at 3 months out and still fall out at almost 6 months out now. Im getting over 100g of protein daily and take all of my vitamins. You have to sip and walk like its your full time job to prevent dehydration and constipation. Trust me I learned the very hard way. I had surprise hiatal hernia repair pain from hell. Things do get better but its not easy for everyone -- I'm on Instagram @Sleever1212. Good luck!!
-
I also forgot to mention I had very low iron so needed 5 iron infusions -- I'm being monitored by a fabulous metabolic doc to be sure I stay at healthy levels now I'm almost 6 months out and although I really enjoy wearing smaller clothes and having more confidence and energy I wish I could have done it without wls Happy that wls is a relatively safe option for those who struggle with keeping weight down and I'm happy about the large network of support systems for wls patients -- also happy happy happy my insurance paid every single penny Hard decision to make but we all do the best we can with healing - my healing is just longer than many others I would not recommend anyone rush to wls as the only option and I would be honest about my many challenges post op - it's not an easy road even at almost 6 months out
-
--- I hear hairloss is due to shock of surgery and low vitamins but some ppl never lose any hair despite low intake of vitamins and surgery shock I started losing at 2 months out and it is still pretty bad at 5.5 months out -- I cut 85% off and wearing a full weave --- braids can be stressful on the roots as well post op but we are limited in options so do what's best for u
-
No drains and I had hernia repaired too Regrets sure cause surgery is major and risky wish I could maintain without wls but happy I'm down 70 since vsg on 121213 -- been under goal of 175 since 4.5 months out Challenges & ordeals ... Initially: Dehydration Constipation Heavy menstrual clotting/dizziness Current: Massive hair loss despite adequate vitamins Ongoing gastritis & inflammation pain Hiatal Hernia repair pain from hell Various food intolerances Back pain upper right but gallbladder ultrasound is normal I'm on carafate, nexium and Pepcid which help a little but no complete relief This too shall pass
