    Orgasms

It is true that certain prescription medications can cause decrease in sensation as well as libido. Maybe a discussion w/ your PCP is necessary. Good luck!

    Kinda cheated........... :(

I'm pretty sure, of course I don't know you (but I do know me), if that was before surgery you would have eaten every last bite on your plate, reached over to your friends plate to finish theirs and ordered desert.....right!!??? Think of this as an accomplishment, you only had a few bites....that's the key! Don't be down on yourself, just move forward and make better choices the rest of the week. Only good things to come....congrats!
  3. I agree with all the above. I am so sorry to hear of the pain your going through right now but there are resources out there for you. There has to be a Student Assistance Center (or something similar) at your school, no matter if its a large University or small community college. Please seek their guidence, you are 18 so these choices are ultimately yours. Not that I would condone missing classess, but if the only time you can seek their help is during your class time (so you mother dosent find out??) then do that. YOU matter and there is so much in the future for you. Thinking and praying for you....

    Weight Stall

I've been told that after your body looses a significant amount of weight rapidly it needs time to rest and recover. Try and change up your foods if at all possible but be sure to keep up your Protein and fluids. Good Luck and be patient, your doing amazing!!!

    Throat and Esophagus pain

I was wondering if the throat pain was a result of recent surgery and possibly the ET tube they put down during surgery, guess not

    Is the ball rolling?

I am still in the pre-op phase as well. I started the process on July 3rd 2013 with my initial seminar. Since reading on here it is obvious that each program is different and the time frame is different depending on their requirements as well as your insurance requirements. First thing I did, the day after my seminar, was call my insurance and find out what they were going to require to be sure I covered all my bases. There is a lot involved but the basics, for me and the program I am in at least were as follows: I have attended multiple support groups, maybe 6-7 (my insurance requires 4), I have met with my nutritionist 5 times and have been cleared by them for surgery (will meet with them one final time once I have an official surgery date), I met w/ the bariatric medical doctor for clearance and lab work, met w/ a neurologist and had a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea, had a psych eval and have one more follow up scheduled with the psychiatrist, I met with my surgeon's PA to learn the 'in's and out's' of the sleeve process and I have my final meeting scheduled with my surgeon the first week of the New Year after which they will submit to insurance for approval and then they will set up my surgery date assuming I am approved. phew......it really is a long process once you type it all out.....Good Luck and let me know if I can do anything to help. I'm still learning myself....

    Any locals in CT?

Welcome...I am new too. Have had a couple of NUT visits and met with the surgeon and the bariatric medial doctor. Have my psych eval tomorrow and my visit w/ the neurologist/sleep center next week. Things are moving along but my insurance requires 6months (and at least 4 visits) with the NUT so we can't even submit for approval until March. I'm not in CT but I live in Mass on the CT border, near Enfield/Sommers. Good Luck!!

    Help me please....

I'm sorry that I am no help as I am just starting the pre-op process but I was just curious about how you mentioned having your sleeve done in Mexico. I have read on here about a lot of people going to Mexico, is there a reason for that rather than having in done at your local hospital? Is it an insurance issue, less red tape (ie: less pre op time/work up)...just wondering?
  19. Hope your hubby can keep up with you! LOL!!! You are amazing!!!! Congrats!!!
  20. I am just starting the process as well. I know some, not a ton, so I will give you only what I have experienced and maybe someone that is more knowledgeable than myself will have more info. I have a private insurance and required a referral from my PCP to my local Weight Management Program (I'm in Massachusetts). I actually did have to call my insurance myself to find out what their requirements were and what would be/wouldn't be covered, so in that regard your doctor was correct (you really should call them and find out what their requirements are as most insurances have different requirements from what I am learning). I have never heard of the "loose 10% of body wt and maintain" policy but that may just be because my insurance didn't require that. From what I am hearing during support groups I have attended and meeting w/ my nutritionist, it seems as if your BMI alone should qualify you. Well with all that said, if I were you, I would start by calling your insurance and see if you need a referral or not. Do you have a local hospital that you tend to use?? Do they have a weight management program?? Once you have this info I would present it to your PCP and ask for the referral (if needed). Again, I am new at this too but this is what I have learned so far. Hope some of the info is helpful and Good Luck!!!
