sick for 1st time since sleeved
jallsop replied to cherbear33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Glad to hear your feeling better. I just got over the exact same thing a few days ago. Stay Strong! -
sounds like it may be time for some new, less slippery socks! Congrats! It's possible that you have lost Fluid as well in your ankles/feet and this too is making the size of your feet/ankles smaller.

Recommened Protein Shakes
jallsop replied to sweetcheeks14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've used EAS Myoplex light strawberry (yummmm!!!), Muscle milk vanilla creame and Atkins vanilla. Good luck!!! -
you may consider adding a little sodium to your diet too in order to slightly elevate your BP. Get you fluids in and maybe try to have a bullion or something daily to help maintain your BP while your Dr is working on helping you to stabilize this. Good luck.

Welcome and congrats! I am still pre op as well, 3/4 for me. I have learned soooo much from this site. enjoy and good luck!

I've noticed that all surgeons have different 'rules and regs' but I would think that as long as it is SF, high protein and low fat you should be fine.
-
my surgeon does not do endo and/or UGI series pre op....phew....I was dreading it personally.

Juicing is so amazing
jallsop replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never juiced and I find this very intriguing. I would love to do this...wouldn't even know where to start or what to put together....I imagine this would be good for when you are on full liquids/soft foods post op....right? -
wow, I am so sorry to hear all that you are going through. I am still pre-op so I can't speak from experience personally but what I can speak to is my experience as a RN. Have they tested you for a leak? I know that people can present with different symptoms in regards to a leak and it is not always 'text book'. Also, and I'm sure you know this already, but you are most likely not getting in the adequate nutrients in order to heal properly and therefore your energy is minimal and your wounds can't heal. I am very concerned for you. Do you have support of your local PCP? Can they refer you to local general surgeon for consult?

Just got my surgery date this afternoon, March 4th!!! I was VERY emotional, still am. Like sobbing emotional, LoL. I feel so happy that I have an official date but on the other hand, sad that I let it come to this.... But!!!! Looking forward to the date and getting excited for what life is to bring now! My husband is very supportive but nervous. I have three young boys so they have no clue and they are only additional stress and worry. I want to be a more active mom for them...they deserve it!!!

21 days!!! I have to do 14 days and I thought that was bad in comparison to what I hear some on here have (or don't have) to do! You got this!!!!
-
I'm sorry, I don't have any advice but eeekkkkk!!!! sooooo exciting, a new baby!!! Congrats!
-
I like EAS Advantage Strawberry....it's yummy
-
you were beautiful to start but now you can just see the confidence oozing out of you!!! Congrats. Can you talk a bit about your diet/exercise routine and why you think you may have been so successful in such a short time....your an inspiration. Thanks!!

As long as you have no pain, burning, blood or discharge you should be fine. Drink plenty of Water and SF cranberry juice if you can. Having a foley catheter puts you at risk for having a urinary tract infection. If you have any of the above just call your doc for a urine sample. Otherwise, that should pass....Good Luck.
-
have you tried different kinds of Protein shakes? I know my NUT gave me a good size list of ones I could choose from (obviously low sugar, high protein)? I have never personally tried unjury yet, I know I will have to once I am post op.....sorry I couldn't be more help. Good Luck!
-
1st off, you look amazing! 2nd can I have the recipe for the brown sugar caramel pound cake (LMAO!!!....but seriously it's my 9 year olds birthday coming up and that would be his dream cake!!!! gabeandaiden@yahoo.com if you wouldn't mind passing on the recipe...if you have a chance). Anyway, back to weight loss .....everyone looses at their own pace. Follow your diet and keep moving...your doing great!

Laparoscopic sleeve after previous csections
jallsop replied to Kristen*'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had 3 C sections. All three were done along the same incision line in the lower pelvic area (bikini area), lap surgery for the sleeve is done in your upper abd area, generally above and/or to the sides of the belly button. When I met w/ my surgeon (I'm still pre op) he said my surgery would not involve the area of my C section at all. Assuming your C section was done in your lower pelvic area as well, you should be fine as well. No sweat....that was a concern of mine as well. Good Luck!! -
20lbs in 2 wks sound pretty darn good to me! Great job with the exercise, just be careful not to over do it, being only 2 wks out I would think your puncture sites and incisions are not yet fully healed. Take it slow and continue on...the scale will move. Good luck, your an inspiration for those of us still waiting for a surgery date!
