I'm tomorrow too! Sooo excited and nervous about making sure my kids are all set while I'm gone for 3 days. Clears only and bowel prep today! Good times!!! Lol!!! It will all be worth it in less than 24 hrs!

I understand what you are going through, I have less than 36 hrs until surgery. Although I don't have doubts, I have true concerns. I have 3 young boys and a fantastic husband that I need to get back to, healthy. I'm having 'mommy guilt' about being away from home for 3 days and concerned that the worse could happen and well, I'm sure you know what that is....but it is a true concern. What I keep telling myself is that I am doing this not only for myself but for all my boys, so that I can be a healthier mommy/wife for them and be around a long, long time. This surgery is going to be a good thing, a great thing! I get butterflies a lot when I think about it....like right now It's allllll going to be good, we got this!!!!

Got a surgery date, & im sooo nervous
jallsop replied to DetroitSlim's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm on my pre op liquid diet too, surgery is 3/4. It's funny, I really haven't had any cravings. I will see/smell food and think 'wow that smells amazing' but I just move on. Like shewolf said, I just think in my mind "if I eat that I won't be able to have surgery" and for me that seems to have gotten me through the last 11days. Good luck! -
Has your wife explained to you where her lack of support comes from? Is she scared, jealous, think your being selfish? That must be difficult for you....

Northern California surgery date 3/10 looking for buddy
jallsop replied to charlie707's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You mention struggling with the pre op liquid diet. Are you having a hard time sticking to it, going 'off' and having things to eat that your not suppose to? Is that what you mean? What is your liquid diet guidelines from your surgeon (everyone's are different)? Some people are allowed small portions of food, etc. I am on my pre op liquid diet too, just a few more days to go for me. 3/10/14 will be here before you know it!!!!! You got this!!! -
Glad to hear things are going well! Keep up the good work...

LOL!!! That is fantastic! I am still pre-op so I have no experience to speak of, only can go by what I have read on here, but most report a more drastic weight loss to start and then trends down Keep up the great work!

Bld sugar up at 3 mos post op
jallsop replied to Mlh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure this must be very discourging for you. Unfortunately, I don't have any reasoning for you as to why that is happening. I just wanted to let you know that you have support here and I can see how that would be frustrating. Hang in there and don't give in!!! Update us as to what your endo has to say, I'd be interested to hear his/her thoughts on possible reasoning. Best of luck to you!!!!! -

Gastric Sleeve nightmare
jallsop replied to shantell81's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
WOW, I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR PAIN AND STRUGGLES. HOW HORRIBLE. I AM SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE STARTING TO FEEL A LITTLE BETTER. HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO DO A SECOND SLEEVE? I DON'T UNDERSTAND, THAT IS JUST AMAZING TO ME. I'M PRETTY SURE YOU SAID YOU HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN TOO, BLESS YOU ALL AND SO GLAD THEIR MAMA IS GETTING BETTER. THINKING OF YOU.... -
when is your surgery? Your nutritionist will tell you what your surgeons/programs requirements are. Just like you said, oddly enough, everyone is given different instructions depending on their doctor's requirements. For me, I am currently following a 2 week pre op diet. My surgery is 3/4. I am allowed 5 Protein shakes a day, one serving of veggie a day, one serving of fruit a day and one serving of starch a day. I can also have all the Clear liquids I want which include sugar free popsicles, SF Jello, broth, SF liquids etc (I can not have any caffeine, carbonation or alcohol). I thought it was going to be torture but it really hasn't been that bad. I'm sure the next time you meet with your nutritionist he/she will start providing you more and more info regarding this, if not just ask. Good luck on your staring weight loss, you can do this!

Two weeks down 5 1/2 months to go
jallsop replied to jdillon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Luck to you too! I had to do a 6 month supervised diet too (at least that's what I'm assuming the 6 month wait is for you). I felt like the day would never come but I will be having my surgery next Tues 3/4. I promise the time will go faster than you think. Keep up the great attitude, you can do this!! -
February/March 2014 sleevers
jallsop replied to rebeccasams's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree w/ SuperFab, I would try Miralax too (u can get the generic store brand for half the price and works just as well in my experience). If you were not passing gas at all that would be concerning, that means things are at least churning around in there. If you felt like you belly was starting to get distended, hard or having increase in abdominal pain and/or unexplainable vomiting I would be sure to let your doctor know. As far as your period goes, the 'trauma' from surgery throws everything off whack so I don't think there is anything to worry about there. Good Luck! -
Where are you having your sleeve? I live in Massachusetts and am having it at my local hospital. Well I'll be thinking about you when you go! Best of everything. THANKS SO MUCH! I'LL BE THINKING OF YOU TOO....STAY IN TOUCH W/ UPDATES. I STARTED MY 2 WK liquid DIET YESTERDAY SO ITS STARTING TO FEEL VERY REAL......GOOD LUCK!!!
