  1. Hey Sleeve Family, Thought it was time I give an update. Today marks my 4th month Surgiversary! I'm down 55 pounds! Feeling good! Much lighter feeling on my feet! Had a bad episode of acid reflux, doctor finally prescribed Nexium for it! I feel that I can really do this! I can really get down another 50+ pounds! The sleeve has empowered me! I no longer feel imprisoned by excess weight! I actually like what I see in the mirror now! The first few weeks were challenging! Nothing tasted right! I was very emotional at times! But I knew I made the right decision, cause my weight was falling off! I need to exercise more now...just been walking, but that's not moving these hips I got...lol Be encouraged everyone! We are in it to WIN IT~!
  2. Hey Fellow Sleevers, So I am struggling....I'm about 6-7 weeks post op and am having a hard time drinking my Water...I don't like the way it tastes anymore...and I'm tired of Crystal Light..Also, I'm not getting all the Protein in I'm suppose to either ...I thought I'd try putting a slice of lemon in the water instead. Anyone out there eat the Quest bars? If so, what are the flavor(s) you prefer? Thanks Numenow
  3. Sounds like you should definitely contact your surgeon ASAP!
  4. Hi, Yes let's keep up with each other! I am a Neebie myself, having been sleeved on 11/20/13. All will be well. I suggest you ask your anesthesiologist for an anti-nausea patch before you go into surgery....that helped me SOOOOO much! I had absolutely NO vomiting or nausea associated with the surgery! Also, ask them for extra support for your head and neck for the surgery. This helped me alot too, I had NO pain in my neck or shoulders from the gas. And last but not least, I asked for a smaller tube gas tube to be used into the normal sized bigger one... Bless U, Numenow
  5. Yes, I had the band placed in 2005, lost 80 pounds and had it removed in 2010 due to band slippage and erosion. I was sleeved on 11/20/13 and doing very well...only after I gained 60+ pounds after band removal... Numenow

    Peanut butter ok?

You should be fine...just DON'T put it all in your mouth at one time....very small amounts, up to the teaspoon... Happy Holidays! NuMeNow!

    Still hungry?

It's ok to feel hungry. I did too! Just remember to have only what you are allowed to eat, your sleeve will do the rest! Numenow
  8. Get you a cold pack or 2 bags of frozen peas....that helped me SOOOO much! Swelling and pain was gone in 3 days... Try it! NuMeNow

    Guys I need your help!

Drink some chicken broth, it has the sodium and electrolytes your body needs to combat the weakness. The same thing happened to me too, about day 6 post-op. Even better, if you can put some spinach leaves in the broth and let them steep for a few minutes, that would be even better. Hang in There, it get's better! NuMeNow
  10. Completely understandable! I was sleeved on 11/20..before Thanksgiving, so I made some turkey and stuffing for myself 2 weeks before! I also went through last meal trips with McDonald's, Taco Bell, CheeseCake Factory...your feelings are completely normal! And there were more places and more food types I wanted to eat, but didn't because of my pre-op fast. I now know that, eventually I will eat a small amount of anything I want, (except for popcorn) and that it will feel SO GOOD not to be able to overeat ANYTHING! Hang in there, Numenow
  11. Thanks for your kind encouragement. I'll just keep it moving... Happy Holidays to U and Yours, Numenow
  12. Wow! U look Marvelous Girlfriend! Thanks for your inspiration and your nuggets of sleeve weight loss information. I am at 28 days post op and am at a weight loss stall....Thanks again for your encouraging pics.....Amazing! Numenow
  13. Hey My Sleever Sisters, So I'm almost 30 days post-op (sleeved 11/20) I've lost 25 pounds, but have been at a stall for almost 2 weeks. Trying not to get worried about it, but will be glad when my weight loss picks up again. I'm also on Carafate for GERD..hard to swallow the pills though...(Horse Pills) Any feedback/support would be greatly appreciated! Thanks NuMeNow!
  14. Hi All, I was sleeved on 11/20/13 and lost 23 pounds by November end and have only lost 2 more since then. Has my body gone into starvation mode? I am 52 years old, back to work and very tired and "out of it" feeling....how did you all begin to exercise at 3-4 weeks post op? Also had a bout with constipation, but that's settled and struggling to get my fluids in everyday. Any thoughts or suggestions is appreciated! Thanks Numenow HW 267 SW 260 Current 242.4

give yourself some time. i know you know this. just the recovery from surgery not to mention the change of eating habits. whew but you will start to feel more energetic in no time. if 10 min's is to tiring, just walk across the room, and than around the room, and than 2 rooms you get the idea. good luck and best

    2. Bandista

      Bandista

Ten minutes is ten minutes and soon you'll be able to do that more than once -- it really adds up. Take good care of yourself. Work can be a lot, even if it's a desk job, the energy of dealing with people, etc. Hope you have a restful weekend ahead!
