  1. I've been banded now for 3 weeks, and I think that I can feel the band. It's not painful or uncomfortable, its just like I can tell something is there. Does anyone else have this feeling? Thanks!
  2. My Lap band story is a whirlwind....literally. I went to the seminar with my husband sometime in May of 2007. I faxed my insurance info in and then received the bad news. MY INSURANCE SUCKS!!!! I would have to pay 50%, have it at the hospital instead of the Same day surgery center, pay all of my deductibles + a bunch of other stuff. It ended up that self pay= the same as insurance paying but without the wait and see game. I was called on June 17th to come in and see the doc on June 23 for my 1st preop visit. I weighed in at a whopping 256.6 LBS. Thats a lot for a 4'11" gal like me. They estimated then that I could get down to 164. (Hey, I'll take it) My surgery date was scheduled for 7/23/07. So after I went to the nutrionist and the psychologist, I met with my aftercare coordinator. My surgery went so well. I never had any nausea, and I still have over half of my pain meds left. I also never really had alot of pain, mainly just some discomfort and the pain of not being able to hold my 2 year old dd.

    confessions

Dear LBT, I confess, I have sinned. I am on week 2 1/2 of a 3 week liquid diet and I am failing. I am sneaking bites:hungry: and so I decided to come out of the closet and post my 1st thread and make a journal so that I can be more accountable. Thanks so FaithMD for opening my eyes.

  6. Hi everyone, I have been lurking here for sometime and appreciate being able to read about everyones experiences here. I am a self pay, newly-banded as of 7/23/07. I had a very easy surgery and recovery thereafter. My problem is that I was supposed to do 1 week of clear liquids followed by 2 weeks of full liquids. I did fine the first week, except there was a mishap with a slurpee (for those after me, even the fruit ones are carbonated) so its a bad choice. Week 2 and so far this 1/2 of week three I have been doing my full liquids plus taking bites here and there of my family's food that I cook. It doesn't seem to bother me, and today I overdid it and ate a full bandster size meal. I feel fine, but now I am worried about future consquences. As of right now, I promise I will not cheat myself any more as I am just being plain stupid.:help: Anybody experience this?

    I've been very bad...

Thank you, Faith for your quick response. You explained it nicely and I can see how the process works. I don't want to have to go through the surgery again or have repairs. I hope that I have not done too much damage.:cry
