October Sleevers - Who else
Hidden from view replied to clefofcividale's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck, good luck! I'm day 7 today - gotta take my dressings off in the shower. Had a sneak peek at one of the incisions yesterday - it's practically invisible! One thing I did learn yesterday - I can't eat kiwifruit. One mouthful hurt like hell! But I have lost weight every day, even if only a couple of ounces. I read somewhere that the biggest weight loss occurs in the first 8 weeks. So I've managed to walk 3 km a day since the day I came home. Gonna try and work that 8 weeks! How are the other Oct. 15th's going? -
Yoghurt - blah! I was really looking forward to it. it is the first thing they give us here in NZ 2 days after surgery. It was awful. Tried again at home - yuk. Almost spat it out. But on both occasions it was sweetened yoghurt. Going to get some unsweetened today to see if that makes a difference. I still love milk, which is a godsend because I couldn't drink enough water.

Good luck to everyone having surgery this week! Remember, the first couple of days could be rough, but your nurses and doctors are there to help you. Remember too that after that it is all plain sailing! Hugs to all! -
Approved for Surgery - Now I'm Freaking Out

Fear not! I am 6 days out. I am also a nurse. I' m feeling great and going back to work tomorrow :-) -
I just went to tickers in the profile menu, selected the one I wanted, entered the values and saved. I think the code provided is for if you want to display your ticker on another site, say Facebook. For this site you don't need to play with the code. Had a little laugh to myself - i read Red sox as Redox and thought you must have some magic pill over there in America! Then I realised you are talking Baseball! Or maybe American Football? It's 4 am here. Have woken up with a really acid stomach. But I've taken antacids and a glass of milk, and will try to get back to sleep. Good luck with the ticker :-)

I will regret this for the rest of my life

Oh, I had that argument with myself as well. Since I would have to eat smaller portions AFTER the surgery, why don't I just eat smaller portions period! But as any permanent dieter knows, it just isn't possible. If it was, everyone would be skinny. I'm not good at weight loss, so I chose the sleeve. Am I a failure? No way! I'm good at lots of other things. Just so happens dieting isn't one of them! Who cares how you achieve weight loss? The important thing is that you do. :-) -

I couldn't get the water down. I had much more luck with fat free milk and then the next day I had diet orange juice. Was able to get 1.5 litres down of each. My dietitian in the hospital said that water is the worst thing to get down and lots of people have more success if they drink something with a bit of flavour. (Please excuse my English spelling! :-) -

Haha! I had a Big Mac and fries and a caramel sundae a few days before! I was starving! Interestingly, I have been woken from my sleep really early this morning feeling very hungry. I have had a couple of sips of a Protein drink, and the terrible hunger has dissipated already. -

I'm not sure! :-) There's a lot of gurgling and rumbling going on! But, there's no way I can eat! I had mine done on Tuesday evening. Had a miserable night Tuesday and a very vomity/nauseated day Wed. Couldn't even keep a sip of water down. No one seemed overly concerned, but I honestly thought something was dreadfully wrong. Then woke up on Thursday and was a box of fluffies - no nausea etc. Discharged home. I've already been for two 3 km walks, baked etc. I literally felt improvement hour by hour. -

Got it done by Auckland Weight Loss Surgery. My surgeon is Richard Babor and his rooms are at Mercy, but he operates at Ascot. -

I have to say I felt terrible for the first couple of days. Can't believe the difference 24 hours makes. Hang in there! You will feel better very quickly :-) -
