    wish you got lap band?

Nope, not for one second. I did my research and knew the band was not for me. Too many complications.

Please help: how to not feel like a failure?

I can totally lose weight. Over and over and over again. I was tired of the merry-go-round. I had to come to terms with the fact that I can't keep it off.

    Light headedness

Yes, I believe so. I still get light-headed at nearly 4 months out. I think it has to do with water consumption....? Or not enough calories? Not completely sure, but I have seen lots of posts about this. Keep on sipping!
  4. That seems very unusual at 4 months post-op. Have you spoken with your doc?

    anyone else feel stuck?

I was told, on average, people will lose between 65%-70% of their excess weight. During my psych eval, I was asked if I would be okay with that.

    High blood pressure

Yes, this happened to me. But they gave me something through the IV after surgery and it was back under control before I left the hospital the next morning.
  7. I can only speak to #3. As a self-pay, I asked this question. My insurance, BCBS of Nebraska, will not cover any complications that arise from a non-covered procedure. My clinic offered supplemental insurance, which was very expensive.

    constipation Wow

You can take Miralax daily. I learned this when I had a colonoscopy.
  9. They put one on me when I was being prepped for surgery. And the blurry vision is true! I left mine on for days and my vision was totally blurry.

    Problems - can you help?

I agree with the above posters. The wound issue is not normal and very troubling at 4 weeks post-op. Mine were completely closed shortly after the staples came out. You should be able to drink fairly easily by now. I also agree that issues 1 and 2 are linked. You might want to find out if you have a stricture. My understanding is that it can be resolved quite easily with the EGD. Good luck and please keep us updated on your progress.

    Frequency of Plateaus/Weight Stalls

I have no idea of what's normal, but I can tell you after the second week, I've been stalled more than I've been losing. It's fairly slow for me. I am slowly coming to terms with that.

5 days and Im freaking out

Totally normal. I had some doubts leading up to surgery. Mostly questioning whether I could just buckle down and do this on my own, but really, I knew the answer to that. By the time surgery day rolled around. I was resolved. Not one hesitation.
  13. I am traveling today so I'm afraid it's airport food for me tonight.

My 32 Week / Monthly Weight Loss Chart

Excellent post. It's always helpful to see someone else's progress. Oh, great job on the weight loss!

    lovenox

I had to do the Lovenox for 7 days, but only once daily.
  16. I, too, am interested in calorie goals. I've been trying to reach my NUT for over two weeks with no success. Interested to see what others post.

    can you eat pickles?

I can eat pickles. But I did not try them until almost 3 months out because I knew they could be difficult to digest. I can eat anything. Anything! It just takes time to get there.

    Stall this early?

Most everyone stalls at 3 weeks. It's been dubbed the dreaded three-week stall. It's completely normal. Brace yourself for the stalls. They happen. And it sucks. You just have to push through it.
  19. I have come to terms with the fact that I am a slow loser. I don't like it, but it is what it is. I had surgery on 10/17. Lost 17 pounds in 17 days. Pretty much every pound since then has been earned slowly. I am currently down 44 pounds and I'm about 14 weeks out. The stalls last longer than the periods of loss. I didn't get fat overnight and I guess I won't get thin overnight, either. Sadly, I won't be one of those people who lose 100 pounds in 6 months. I just keep working the plan and the weight IS coming off. Just slower than I'd hoped. Hang in there. My misery loves your company :-)

    Sleeve chain...

I am part of the chain gang. A friend had his sleeve in August. I went in October, and now my BF is getting his in the next month or two. And perhaps my daughter sometime in the future. And lastly, my sister-in-law is looking into it.

    Calories at four months post-op?

I would love to provide an update, but they haven't responded yet. I will try to remember to come back to this thread once I hear something.

    Calories at four months post-op?

I just emailed my NUT today because I want to know as well. I'm getting around 900, but something tells me it should be more. I know their goal was to get me to 1,200, but I don't know at what point I should be there.
  24. Sassy Pants1

Stall over! ONE-derland at last! :)

May I ask how many calories you are doing? I upped mine to 900 a few weeks ago because I've been working out consistently and now I'm wondering if I'm too low. I've read you should be getting 1,000 if you're working out. But I'm not losing at 900 so I'm afraid to increase.
