  1. I am in my 9th week and I do get a stitch in my side, but it's the left side. Feels like it's up high in my ribs. It comes and goes. More annoying than painful or problematic.

    Feeling Hunger?

Yes! I felt hunger pretty much right away. Much like gamer girl, I am satisfied with a small amount of food, but it doesn't last as long as I would like. I am generally hungry again within 3 hours or so. Sadly, I was not one of the lucky ones who never/rarely feel hunger. I'm hungry now!

    What's Your Average?

Height: 5'6" SW: 246 CW: 218 Avg: 3.7 per week Thanks for this thread, Seela! I have been feeling like every single pound has been a struggle lately and this helps with perspective.

    7 Weeks Out.

I feel ya! And my misery loves your company. :-) Sleeved on 10/17. Down 28 pounds. It's been a slow go for me. I've already hit two serious stalls and a couple mini stalls. It is frustrating, but I am keeping the faith that it is working and will continue to work. I will admit, I do compare my weight loss with others and it leads to no good. I've always been a slow loser and it looks like I will continue to be a slow loser. Hang in there! And I will be a hanging in there with you.

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS- How Ya Doin'?

Gah, I am frustrated. I must be the slowest loser ever. Sleeved 10/17 and I'm down 24 pounds. I lost 17 pounds in the first 17 days and the rest has been a slow struggle. In fact, I am currently up 1 pound. Who gains?? I'm not sure I've ever read about that. I am getting 600-700 calories on average. I have great restriction. I am anxious to see the scale move again!
  6. People have already offered my suggestions, which were your local mental health center and contacting the manufacturer. I would encourage you to not feel humiliation. These services are meant for people when they find themselves in hardship. There is no shame in needing a hand up once in a while. I sure hope your daughter is okay. I am sending you lots of good juju!

    Prilosec, And Birth Control

Prilosec since day two. Birth control after 4 weeks.

My Mom Just Worked My Nerves

I was not given any weekly average. I was told, on average, the sleeve will provide for a total weight loss of about 70% of ones excess weight. Some more, some less. They wanted to make sure I would be satisfied with only losing 70% of my excess weight. I have not told my mom about my WLS for fear (read: dread) of the conversations your mom is having with you. I sure feel for you.

    Still In A Coma!

RJ, I am so sorry to hear of your latest setback. This, sadly, is another bump in the road of your journey. You always show amazing strength, kindness and grace on these boards. I am quite sure this is how you live your live out there in the real world as well. Sending blessings your way.

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS- How Ya Doin'?

Sleeved on 10/17. Lost 23 pounds since surgery. Hit the 3 week stall and it's been super slow going since. I continue to struggle with getting all my fluids in. No issue with any foods.....so far. Hitting between 500-600 calories each day.

    The Stall

I really wish I had taken measurements. My surgery got moved up a week and I was traveling for work when it all happened. I got home at 2am and went in for surgery at 9am. I didn't have time to measure and beyond that, I have no excuse. It's taken me almost 3 weeks to lose 5 pounds. I take comfort in knowing I'm doing all the right things and it will happen....eventually.

    Im Not Special.....

THIS in incredibly inspiring.....thank you for sharing! I know the stalls will happen, I had just really hoped I would be a fast loser. Why in the world I even entertained that idea is a mystery. I've never, in all my weight loss journeys, been a fast loser. Clearly, all of these Protein drinks have made me drunk with fantasies!

    Im Not Special.....

I hit the dreaded 3 week stall, which has carried on into weeks 4 and 5. I was hoping I would be special and skip right over the 3 weeks stall. No such luck. I lost 17 pounds in the first 17 days. I've lost 5 pounds over the next 18 days. No complaints. I know this will pass. I'm really just taking a moment to whine. I really wanted to be special!!

    Im Not Special.....

Thanks, Seela! Gamer Girl, I forgot about the hair loss...ugh! Glad it's winter and I can wear hats!

    Call me <evil> but...

    Love. This. Thread.

    Incision Infection

No. Mine never looked like that. They closed up pretty fast. But I guess if the doc isn't concerned.....

    Prilosec And Miralax

My doc gave me a 3-month prescription for Prilosec, which I take twice daily without fail. I've read many times that acid presents like hunger so I stick with meds. And I've had no issues with vomiting or heartburn. I've not taken the Miralax though I really need to. I just can't get 8oz down very fast. So I use Dulcolax. They are super tiny so they slide right down. I will switch to Dulcolax when I can drink fast enough to get the dose down.
  18. I am 5 weeks out and I have never, not one day, hit my Fluid intake goal. I am too full to drink that much. But I continue to reach for the goal.
  19. I have no idea how many I am supposed to be getting, but I am getting 400-500 a day. And I am struggling to get that.
  20. Excellent information! I, too, can eat more of the soft foods like yogurt and soup. Dense protein really does make the difference. I can barely get 2 ounces in.

    All consuming

    Yes, I sure did! It's a life-changing event.

    Got My Date...but...

It sounds like he wants to shrink your liver some more. Due to the location of the surgery, they need to work around your liver. You do not want an open surgery. That opens you up to more complications and a longer recovery. I am sure you and your surgeon will figure out what works best for you. Wishing you the very best of luck!

    Got My Date...but...

I had this happen. I asked for another doctor in the practice. Lo and behold, they scheduled me sooner. Whatever happens, this is just a bump in the road. The prize is long-term. I know that is crappy advice when you have been on liquids for so long. Hang in there.
