Dr Hoehn at KC Bariatric
Sassy Pants1 replied to irockedthe80s's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Yes, he did my surgery. I've had absolutely no problems. I have a friend who was sleeved by his partner, Dr. Hamilton in August. He has had no issues either. -
Nope. In fact, I found it odd that the only residual proof it really happened was the bruise from the IV. It's like it never happened.

Omeprazole DR 20mg
Sassy Pants1 replied to gomekast's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take my prescription Prilosec 2x daily. -
How do you know if you have gallbladder issues?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Mommysonadiet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The best way I can describe it is labor pain, but in your chest. It feels like your chest is being squeezed super tight. That was my experience anyway. I've heard some people say back pain. -
24 pounds is a pretty good loss. I was at 14 pounds two weeks out. There is an explanation for the stalls. Check out Butterthebean's signature line. There is a link that explains it quite well.

November sleevers! 6 weeks out and feeling discouraged!
Sassy Pants1 replied to Alisa11/18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Actually, you're doing really well. I had not lost that much at 6 weeks. I am in my 11th week and I've lost 38 pounds. It's a slow go for some of us. I am confident it will work, it's just going to take more than I had hoped. -
Spoke too soon possible leak and mono more tests tmw!

How bad is the nausea?
Sassy Pants1 replied to SoCalMomOfFour's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
None to speak of. I had the patch for surgery and they also put something in my IV. I had a couple of bouts post-op when I drank my Protein drink too fast. I take my Prilosec 2x daily and I think that really helps. -
I wanna guzzle down a bottle of water!
Sassy Pants1 replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes! And I can't. I can get a good swig, but I cannot guzzle. Sometimes, I am just so thirsty. And I get full on liquids, feel bloated, but still thirsty. I'm hoping this passes with time. -
I could have a limited list of soft foods after two weeks. At eight weeks I could go unrestricted. I'm in my 11th week and so far there is nothing my body has rejected.

How do you know youre full?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Halfpint1218's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hiccups are my soft stop. I, too, was concerned about what full should feel like. To me, it feels like pressure in my chest. It is different than what full felt like pre-op. I can tell you there is no question or doubt once you're on dense protein. -
Is this kind of pain/pressure normal?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I had this. It was more of a discomfort than pain. I think it's a combo of the swelling and acid. I take my Prilosec 2x daily. It definitely gets better with time. -

Too few calories? Too little water? Low blood pressure? -
Tried soft foods... Totally bummed
Sassy Pants1 replied to Jessica108's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was unrestricted at 8 weeks. I've had no issue with any food at all. I've not had much pork, but I will have a few ounces of a hamburger patty and it causes me no issues at all. -
Do you have a caloric tipping point?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Fluffnomore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 11 weeks post op tomorrow. At 9 weeks post op, my doc said 800 calories is a bit too low. They want me hitting a goal of 1,200 calories until I hit goal. In reality, I have trouble hitting 800 calories on some days. I've not been able to hit 1,200 yet, but I do like having the guideline. -
Does anyone regret this surgery?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Wenniegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I have not had a single regret. But I also had a textbook recovery. No issues with eating or drinking. I was very careful to take small sips. -
How long after suegery will it take to care for yourself?
Sassy Pants1 replied to ShayLove's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
For me, it was the next day. No problem being on my own. -
That's pretty good, in my opinion. I've been averaging about 4 pounds a week. But I gotta tell you, it seems there is no real average. Everyone is different. I will also say, I am 11 weeks out and have been stalled almost half the time. It's a wonky ride, this weight loss journey.

Sugar: I am so miserable and it makes me happy!
Sassy Pants1 replied to gamergirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Nothing. I have trouble with nothing. Sadly. -
My WLS bible says to subsidize the protein goals with real food. As you are able to meet your goals with real food, no more protein drinks. Though I will say, my diet doesn't seem balanced yet so I like keeping one protein drink in my daily diet to help with vitamin intake.

Whats your meal plan?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Ellenenchanted's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Morning: ready to drink Protein drink Mid-morning: maybe a string cheese because the Protein Drink doesn't last Lunch: 3-4 oz. of dense protein. Today that was Italian beef from the crock pot Dinner: 3-4 oz. of dense protein. chicken or a naked hamburger patty. If I snack, I would usually grab a string cheese. Or a sugar-free pudding. Sometimes I will have one or two sugar-free Reese's mini candies. I am averaging 800 calories daily. My doc just said that is too low. Dense protein really fills me up so if I stick to the plan, I don't think I can up my calories right now. -
Not losing weight!
Sassy Pants1 replied to krazzierebel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Bufflehead speaks the truth. I am entering my 10th week and I've been stalled almost half the time. It just seems it's the way it works. -
Don't spend one minute sweating the EGD. The IV was the worst part.

No direction for bowel prep from my surgeon. You're under for such a short time.
