Stall over! ONE-derland at last! :)
Sassy Pants1 replied to FieryRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you so much for sharing this status update! I needed it. I've been stuck since 12/26. I'll move a few ounces up and down, but essentially stuck. It's always good to see the reminder that stalls happen and they do break....eventually. Congrats on hitting onederland! What a great way to start the week. Woo-hoo! -
Only a few ounces here and there. I'm up about 1/2 pound today. Meh!

I hit a 2+ week stall at almost 3 months. The scale is starting to move again, but very little and very slowly. I was under a great amount of stress with some very serious family issues, including the death of my father. I've wondered if stress had anything to do with it, I, too, could have eaten cleaner, but it still wasn't bad and I wasn't going over my calorie goal. I don't know the answer, but I think stress could be a factor.

OK....how did you know.....
Sassy Pants1 replied to michelle68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had nothing disagree with me....yet, so I would like to know as well. Though, I'm 3+ months out so I think the odds are with me. Finger crossed! -
I just finished with a 2+ week stall. And now I'm losing again, but it is not very much. It's just going slow right now. It's so frustrating when it's happening! But we have to take comfort in the fact that we are doing what's right and our bodies just need some time to catch up.

Dry heaves? Vomiting?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Antonette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No dry heaves and no vomiting - not once. -
Your calories seem right to me for being 3.5 months. I just hit 3 months and I'm doing 800-900. About half a cup seems right as well. However, i guess it depends on what you're eating. I can eat a full cup of Soup, but only about 3 ounces of dense Protein. Oh, and hiccups are my full indicator. Really LOUD hiccups.

Drinking with Straws

My team is okay with straws. I've been using one since the day I came home from the hospital. -
How many calories
Sassy Pants1 replied to krysten.warren's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Funny how quickly I forget. I believe I was hitting around 500 calories at 3 weeks....? -
scale hasn't moved since i started soft foods
Sassy Pants1 replied to abarta83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're experiencing the much dreaded and always frustrating 3-week stall. Almost everyone stalls out at 3 weeks. I had great loss for the first 17 days and then it's been periods of loss followed by longer periods of no loss. I think this is just the way it's going to be. I always felt I could eat more Soup, I just stopped with my measured amount. You definitely feel the restriction when you eat dense Protein. Your experience sounds completely normal. No worries! -
what vitamins do you take?
Sassy Pants1 replied to SoCalMomOfFour's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There are as many answers as there are doctors, I suppose. My nutritionist specifically said no to Flintstones - she wants us to use bariatric vitamins. I use a gummy vitamin from Costco along with a B12 complex. My 2-month bloodworm was perfect. -
comparatively speaking, I am a slow loser. 40 pounds in 3 months. Some people lose that in the first month. I just have to accept I am a slow loser and take some comfort in the fact that I am doing all the right things to be successful. I guess my success is just going to take longer.

Girl, I woke up from surgery hungry! I am not one of the lucky ones that does not feel hunger. I find that warm liquids help me feel full.....for a while anyway. I often drink the diet hot chocolate - no real nutrition, but only 25 calories.

Several months to years later (question)
Sassy Pants1 replied to Ree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 12 weeks out and I do not chew to a mushy consistency, and I have for a while now. But I do take pretty small bites. I've not had any issues. -
Drink tons of Water the day before to make sure you are hydrated. I NEVER look when they do it. I feel like it helps to not see it happening. The IV I received for the sleeve surgery is the first time I had a numbing agent. It stings, but only for a moment, and you don't feel the IV insertion at all. I will ask for that process should I ever need another IV.

8 weeks before I could even try it. I tolerated it just fine. I, too, craved salad. Crunchy and fresh goodness!

Jenny, you look fantastic! What would you say made you successful? I'm always looking for nuggets of wisdom! Did you eat super low carb? Or is it more balanced? -
Fantastic news! Congrats. You will be on the losers bench before you know it.

Did you go through multiple stalls? I am almost 3 months out and I'm finding that the scale is not moving about half the time. Wondering if that is typical? -
Before and after pictures please!

Mrs.RRn, you look AMAZING! That is a lot of weight to lose in less than 7 months. How did you do that?? -
2nd month weight loss, anyone else afraid they won't lose?
Sassy Pants1 replied to Mommysonadiet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YES! Yes, I have this fear. I fear I will be the one person this does not work for, which is not an original thought or fear. I am in my 11th week and I've not dropped any weight in over two weeks. Of the 11+ weeks since surgery, I've been stalled about half the time. Logically, I know it will work, but man, it's tough to keep the positive attitude when the scale won't move. Now, my fear is working double time because I read a post earlier today about someone who is 6 months out and hasn't lost anything in 3 months. Again, logically, I think that is not the norm, but it is working on my insecurity. -
Miss Mac gives excellent advice!

Ugh, a UTI can be so uncomfortable. Antibiotics will clear it right up.

Sounds just about right for the near future. I was able to have eggs and Greek yogurt at 5 days out. That first scrambled egg was dee-lish!
