    Restrictions

So I'm not sure if anyone is willing to reply. I see a lot questions and answers about sex, but none about you know the other kind of sex. How long should I wait before you know going "down town?" I'm guess I'm scared of taking in too much air? Like a straw restriction? So embarrassed, but really curious.
  2. After two weeks and two days I'm headed back to work tomorrow. I have mixed feelings. In some ways, I'm glad that I can preoccupy my time with something else other than thinking about this surgery I just had. On the other hand, I don't know if I quite have the energy just yet. I have a two hour commute one way (until June) and it wore me out before the surgery so I can't imagine how I'm going to feel at the end of the day this week. However, I think I'll just stay at a hotel tomorrow night to avoid the commute home and rest. I have a desk job but it can't still be intense and tiring. Anyway, wish me luck!
  3. I'm 2 weeks out today and plain water still doesn't settle well with me. Anyone else? I'm sure craving it but it just doesn't go down without a little crystal light.

    What was your breaking point?

I was not hurt badly. Really just one leg went down. It was pretty bruised. I was very embarrassed. You would have thought a bunch of 4 and 5 year old would have laughed their heads off but they were so concerned and not one laughed. But I vowed that I would never put myself in a predicament to embarrass my daughter again because of my weight.
  5. For the past couple of years as weight has piled on I have not been able to wear most shoes. Most shoes cut into my foot and cause me much pain. I have resulted to wearing soft leather loafers. In fact, I finally found a pair of Michael Kors loafers that I could wear comfortable and bought every color. So, they have been my shoe collection this fall and winter. Christmas of 2011, my mother bought me a beautiful pair of black leather ankle boots. I could never fit them. They just sat in my closet on the shelf. I threw away most of my other shoes thinking I would never wear "regular" shoes again. Anyway, I tried on the ankle boots this morning and WHAM they fit! My foot fit right in!! In less than 2 weeks, this very significant part of my life has changed! So off I go! Shoe shopping!!!

    Shoes! NSV

Nice job everyone! I have two suits in my closet that I get to break out for my return to work this week. Size 18. Unfortunately, I have a rule that if I don't use or wear something for six months I throw or give it away. I have cleared my closet of all smaller sizes besides these two suits so I literally starting from scratch. Fortunately, my size 20's are not so too big yet.

    Long Island Doctors Wanted

Dr Gadaleta. Had surgery 3 weeks ago. Pre op was great and I consider the surgery a success. He is my hero. Close to the city.

    What was your breaking point?

When I fell through the deck at my daughter's pre-k graduation...

    Plain water

Wow Laura Ven! Thanks for the break down. Makes sense. I'm not losing my mind!
  12. Hello everyone! Now that I am officially sleeved, I have some concerns that I would like to share and seek advice. I know a few people ( my sister included) who, after WLS, began a downward spiral of making bad decisions. They turned their food addictions to alcohol. They began to party excessively. Their personality changed for the worse. They have basically become just different people ( for the worse). I am so worried about "smelling" myself a little too much and will begin to act differently. I have been small before. I have been on the party scene before and I am hoping that that is out of my system and I won't feel the need to reclaim my youth. But I guess my question is, have any of you been told that you have changed ( for the worse) or know someone who has after WLS? Is this a concern I am just making up in my head?

    2 wks post op

I had bad BO and bad breath. My husband kept complaining that I just smelled all the way around. Today (I'm two weeks post op today) he told me I smelled normal and my bad breath was gone. My skin also lightened. I think it was just toxins leaving my body.

    WLS = making bad decisions?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. I am feeling pretty confident that I will not change. I have actually spent the last three years of my life learning to love myself for who I am in and getting to know the inner me. I saw how WLS changed my sister and I was determined not to turn out that way even before I considered WLS. I wanted to love myself fat or not. And I do. Someone posted a thread about the "girl in the back of the room." Well that's not me. I actually know how to work a room even at 267 pounds. I will always keep though in the back of my mind the travesties of I am witnesses and try to stay the same person. Just a healthy, smaller and smarter one.
  16. Congratulations! Funny, my skin is lighter too. I guess toxins leaving the body...
  17. Oh honey So sorry you're in this predicament. Like someone else said, try turning on music and dancing with your daughter. Maybe take some classes online. But most importantly, please let your husband know how you feel. Let him know that sitting around the house is not only unhealthy for you but for your daughter. Is there somewhere he can drop you and daughter off while he is at work? A library? A mall? A relatives house? I hope you are able to learn to drive soon. Wishing you the best of luck. In the meantime, we are here for you!
  18. Dang! That is absolutely amazing! Truly inspirational. Your photos prove the difference between losing with exercise and losing without. Thanks for sharing!
  19. Mine howled for the first week. Was told that was normal. Did not have heartburn though.
