Hi everyone I am 2 months post op and my hair is growing like crazy! I know I keep hearing about hair loss at around the 3 month mark but anyone experience excessive hair growth before the hair loss? I am thinking that it because I have been eating foods with nutrition now in oppose to my normal pre op food without nutrition. But I don't know. ..

It is a win win. Only taking flinstone vitamins. Didn't eat much protein before surgery. Just a bunch of junk. I hope it last!

Are you kidding?! Definitely see the difference! -
I have been under anesthesia several times to include open heart surgery and have never experienced hair loss. I am a little two months out and will be interested to see if I experience hair loss.

Not one dime. Work for the hospital that did my surgery.

For the first time in a long time I just feel normal. I'm thinking about a diet or going on a diet. I don't feel like I'm on a diet now just eating like a normal person. My stomach tells me to stop just like a normal person instead of me just keep eating and eating. I can do things that normal people can do now. I'm in a size 16 and can wear clothes where normal people wear clothes. My life is no longer consumed with being morbidly obese. Sorry for the use of the word normal because guess what? There is no such thing as normal. We are all different in our own different ways.

I realized the same thing about my sister this week. We are not close at all as of recent years. She had gastric bypass in 2004 or so. Lost a significant amount of weight. Got down to a size 6 but has regained to about a 10-12. Still significantly smaller than me. And she has held on to that too. Ever since I went to law school in 2005 our relationship has soured a bit. She became very jealous and resentful of me. She became an alcoholic and drug addict. Her life has been on a downward spiral and she has told many people that us because I was a planned pregnancy and she was not. All in all I guess she felt like the only thing she had over me was that she was of average size and I was not. A couple of weekends ago I sent a picture of my weight loss progress so far. She never responded and hasn't said a word to me since. I asked my mom the other day had she heard from her and she said yes. Then she casually mentioned that she kept tellin her she was going on a diet. Then my mom told me that my weight loss was probably pushing her over the edge again. I'm not worried about her. Everything I have accomplished in my life has been through hard work and dedication, including my weight loss so far. No one is gonna rain on my parade!

R there any Dec 2013 sleevers
ualaw08 replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dec 19th here. 32 pounds lost so far. Less than 2 months and I'll take it. For the first time I don't feel like I'm on a diet. I don't think about food continuously. And I know my life will only get better. I am proud of what I have accomplished and will not let a scale take that away. -
I used to have nightmares about eating cupcakes etc. For the rest of the dream I was just so upset with myself. The thing is now I don't even crave those things....

Southern. I can't imagine what you are going through neither do I know what to say. All I can do is pray and pray hard for you. Thank you for the reminder to love our love ones so much while they are here with us and not everything is about this sleeve. Come here to vent. Whenever you need to. We are here.

So the answer is no. No one has gone through this. Best of luck to you.

OVER A MONTH POST OP AND NO CHANGE!
ualaw08 replied to sleevinIT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you know what you need to do. No junk food. No pop eyes. No Jamaican food. No cake. This will not work by itself. You have to put in the effort and change the way you are eating. PLEASE go see your NUT and have them prepare a menu for you to go by. Then stick to it. We want to see that scale go down girl! Get on it!! -
Lol. My husband stole one too!

Yeah. I thought about just building my own one. -

Just read up on this! Had never heard of it before. Does it really work? The reviews seem to be generally positive. I might just go ahead and order one! -
Is she blind? That is totally strange. Did you set her straight?

My hubby had his sleeve surgery on Tuesday. He can already eat and drink more than I can 5 weeks out. Is there a difference in restriction between men and women when being sleeved?
-
Agree! Today he consumed too much too fast and has been moaning and groaning. Finally feeling the restriction and doing much better today. Thanks everyone!
