Hi! Sure. I juice red cabbage, spinach, celery, beet, cilantro, carrots and apple. I make my smoothies with strawberries, blueberries, half a banana, unsweetened almond milk, 2 Splenda, and a tsp of vanilla. Hope this helps. Enjoy!!

Anesthesiologist said I have to be awake for the placing of the oxygen tube

Hi having the tube put down his throat awake was very traumatizing to him. The procedure itself was fine. -
Hello everyone, I Was sleeved on dec 19 of last year so I am not quite 5 months post op. However my restriction is not much different from 2 weeks post op. I can't eat very much. After 2 bites, my stomach starts to gurgle and bubble especially with anything not completely mushy. I am starting to really miss eating. My husband was sleeved about a month after me and can eat much much more than me. He is even starting to get worried about me. Should I call the dr? If this normal?

Hi everyone Thanks for responses. I am ok and figured out what the problem was. I was not following orders and taking a few sips of drink before eating. The fluid was pretty much filling me up so I didn't have room for food. This past week I have not been drinking while eating and have been able to eat a little more. I think I still have a little more restriction than I should but blood work and everything is ok. I am 5 months post op today but will post my progress in another post. Lesson learned... Follow Dr.'s orders!!

This happened to my husband. He was devastated by the whole thing. He talked about for weeks after his surgery. I'm sorry you have to go through this, but yes it does happen. -

Has any of the past sleevers not lost hair?
ualaw08 replied to Tammylb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 months and a week out no hair loss yet. I think juicing has helped me. We will see a few months from now. -
I am four months and one week out and have not experienced any hair loss. I began juicing about a month ago replacing breakfast with my juice made from spinach red cabbage carrots cilantro mint apple and orange. My carb count is up but it has helped with hair loss and energy. My weight loss hasn't slowed down either. I feel amazing!

Hi Everyone! I am 4 months and 7 days out from surgery and have officially gone from 267 pounds to 199 pounds post op! I am finally in the 100's! I have not see. That have seen my weight begin with a 1 since 2005. This has been an amazing journey and I feel amazing. I must admit it has been an easy journey because my sleeve works for me. Even when I nimble on something I shouldn't my sleeve stops me. I'm so so excited! Hope everyone feels as good as I!

Hi. I have not exercised at all. I eat normally with exception of I juice to help mitigate hair loss which I have not experienced so far. I do try to eat protein first. However I will admit that most days I don't get enough protein in. I don't drink protein shakes or eat protein bars. Just regular foods. A couple of bites of meat then a couple of bites of veggies then done. No bread. No white carbs. No soda. So sugar except for natural sugar from fruits and veggies. Hope that helps.

Beautiful and inspirational story! -
I'm laying in bed thinking about tomorrow being Monday. In my pre op life I would spend my Sunday nights in bed thinking about how I would be starting some kind of new diet the next day. How I would be good all week and maybe even exercise. But every Monday I would start out eating well then by three I would find myself in the cafeteria looking for a piece of cake and filling a 16 oz cup of coke. I would be disappointed with myself then would tell myself that the next Monday would be the day. That day never came until Dec 19th of last year. Here I am almost 4 months post op. Almost 70 pounds down and I am not thinking about beginning a new diet. I will wake up and drink fresh vegetable and fruit juice and eat a couple of bites if protein throughout the day. I might even have to remind myself to eat. Tomorrow is Monday and I'm NOT starting my diet. Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest. Good night everyone.

Hi Everyone! It is finally pleasant in NY so my family and I decided to take a trip to the city. While at Central Park I had the best time of my life. I was able to run around with my 6 year old daughter. We climbed rocks, we rode a carousal, and walked a lot! I was not tired and body felt great! It was just excellent. Furthermore, my daughter took a picture of me and when I looked at it I barely recognized myself! What a great, great day! Before and today. 3 and a half months later.

This week I have been juicing! My concoction including purple cabbage, carrots, cilantro, parsley, spinach, apples and grapes. One scoop of unflavored protein powder. In addition to my juice I are a piece of meat (salmon or some kind of fish). I not only had energy out of the roof but pooped for an hour last night and dropped almost 4 pounds this week! Additionally I have not seen one strand of hair laying around here. Hope everyone else had a great week!

Hello everyone! I am so pleased to report out on my 3 month post-op progress. Let me begin by saying that going into this surgery my medical situation was grim. While I had no documented medical issues, my body hurt from head to toe. I was tired all the time, my mind was foggy and I was just truly unhappy with the way I looked. I will be honest, I only followed the pre op diet for two days. I just couldn't do it. That was going on knowing I might suffer the consequences for my actions. When I fell asleep on the operating table I was craving all types of foods but I woke a different person. In the past 3 months, my aches and pains have vanished. I can exercise and keep up with others when walking. I can shop in regular clothing stores (down from a 20 to a 14). I can look myself in the mirror and last but not least my boss has noticed that my work product and ambition is through the roof. I'm unstoppable. For those of you having any doubts about this surgery I hope I can be a testament to its miracle. To those of you whom I have followed on this site and have served as an inspiration to me. Thank you! I hope you enjoy the pictures of my progress so far!
