Like judy ,californianurse ,sunshine( and I guess most of us here on these thread)said, you won´t regre it ,give them a call they are very caring and informative, you can talk to Dr.Valenzuela or Laura before and after the surgery and they are there for you all the time, I still keep in touch with Laura she is very supportive I don´t know how she does it but she seems to have the time to listen to me, It is very comforting when you are going through a procedure like this (Lapband)to feel they care for you, they answer all your questions clear your doubts and for me it was almost like I knew them before my surgery, they have been very supportive.

Thank you all for your support, yes It was very hard for me specially the first couple of weeks I was affraid to even look outside my windows I remember thinking what if some one is outside looking inside to see if I´m by my self, It is a scary thing, but I think I´m almost over it, I was very upset and depressed somedays I tried to comfort my self with food and I just couldn´t, It was painful, may sound bad ,but I´m thankful for that, if not may be I would weigh 31 lbs more and not 31 lbs less:thumbs_up:

Just Started my liquid diet?
onenonly replied to LizF's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know for me the liquid diet has been one of the most challenging sacrifices, the before diet was ok, but the after it's been very hard because of all the holiday cooking :speechles first Thanksgiving and soon Christmas, but nice to know I'm not the only one going thru this.:faint: -
h Thanks omlagirl. I have been in a little pain. I guess the gas because its been constant and I tried the heating pads and they made it better. Ill write about my experience later for now I've stuck to the broth and Protein Water also I've been drinking the slim fast high protein. Ive been kinda weak, how long before you get your energy back?

I just got back last night it never crossed my mind the tons and tons of people traveling, and the crowded planes :phanvan. I will let you know about my experience in Mexico in a couple of days when I feel better, just wanted to let you know that everything went great and I'm very exited to have had the courage to go thru this like all of you that were very supportive, for now I will concentrate on getting thru this holiday and all the wonderful food :hungry:, I guess I would have to settle with just as couple of sips of chicken broth . HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

Hey Omlagirl I'm sure that alot of us are waiting to read about your experience with Dr. Gonzalez and his team I know I am , so I think It would be nice if you post it here where many of us have come for support. I've read that the gas pain is one of the most common complaints:phanvan:phanvan and that It is a painful experience ,so I guess you are very lucky not to have had any. Congrats and I can't wait to read how it all went.

I was gone for the weekend and today I was surprised by all the support I received from all of you, thank you so much. I cannot believe that I get more support from this forum than from my family(thank you Newblew for starting this thread).

I just got back from my parents home and maybe I should have kept it to my self but I told them about my plans to have the surgery done and they just don’t understand It’s not only that I´m going to a foreign country but they don’t seem to believe that this is the only choice for me, so I spent the whole afternoon depressed and thinking if this is the right decision for me

So finally my time has come, I was gone for a couple of months, cannot keep on putting the surgery off anymore so once again I come to all of you for support, I guess I just want to hear success stories. I've gone thru all the research and the pros and the cons and I know this is the best thing for me. I was reading on the old thread that the best time to have the surgery would be after the holidays but for me I think it will be something to keep me busy, planning my diets and so on. I called today and scheduled my surgery for NOVEMBER 20th. I start my pre-op diet in 4 days. Can any of you vets give me some advice? How in the world will I handle 8 days of LIQUIDS?

Anyone heard of Dr. Francisco Gonzalez in TJ?
onenonly replied to Liz1531's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Anyone that can help me? I'm calling doctor Gonzalez, but before I do can someone give me what you think are the most important questions to ask. I have notes, but would like some input. -

Hey there , well looks like there’s many choices for surgeons in Mexico, and I don’t know about you but I think I’m leaning more towards Dr. Francisco Gonzalez after reading a lot of posts of positive experiences with not only him but all of his team, the care and attention before and after the surgery, and for me that is very important not to be left in the cold after they have done the surgery on us, if they care enough about you to take the time to do follow up its wonderful ... even though IT SHOULD BE A MUST but others don’t seem to think so, any input??? -
HOPE YOU HAD A NICE WEEKEND, I'M ALSO LOOKING IN TO A COUPLE OR DOCTORS IN TIJUANA, ANY INPUT???? THANKS!!! SUSAN B.
