Hi, all! My first post on here. I first looked into lap band surgery 2yrs ago, went thru the 6 mos insurance weigh in drama and at the last minute my fear overtook me and I canceled. A few months later I was diagnosed with breast cancer. One partial mastectomy, 12 week recovery from MRSA infection, second mastectomy, bilateral reconstruction, radiation and chemotherapy, two years later the fear of WLS was gone! I was sleeved Oct 3, 2013, am down 20lbs and loving life! Sure I miss my BFF foods, mourn the loss of my prior method of soothing of raw emotions with my fav treats. I'm learning new coping skills and feeling so empowered by my sleeve. Life can be short, don't waste a moment on fear. Embrace your chance to break free of habits that don't serve your greater good. I wish you peace and joy.
