This is so difficult!
Texasgrandma replied to aNewTanya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I truly can appreciate you're feelings. I am 3 months out and only over the last month have I really started feeling well and getting the hang of this. It is tough but it really will get better. Like you, I thought I'd made a mistake. I wasn't used to my tiny sleeve and how it would affect so much of my life. They tell us this stuff before surgery, but actually implementing it was hard. There is so much to learn. It has been worth it though. I wouldn't have told you that 6 weeks out though. Give yourself some time and you will be able to meet your goals and as you see that happening, it is very gratifying and encouraging. I'm still working at hitting my protein and water goals but I'm getting there and I just wake up every day with a new resolve. You can do this! -
I am one week post-op and I'm having a problem when I take a drink of anything. It seems to stop at the point they repaired my hernia and then I get a sharp pain and a gurgling sound. I had to go back to the hospital this weekend because of vomiting and dehydration and they performed a swallow test. It showed that it is slowing down a lot at that point but does eventually go down. My question is -- will this pain stop? Is my esophagus swollen and that is what is causing the pain?

I'm scheduled for surgery with Scott Stowers in Decatur, Texas on January 20, 2014. I'm really getting anxious and excited at the same time. There is so much information in this forum and I'm very grateful! I can't imagine going into this surgery without all your input. -
4 Things I Wish I Would've Known Pre Op
Texasgrandma replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm starting my 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow and really appreciate all the helpful honesty. I think I'm ready. -
I just joined this forum and your post really touched me. I lost my brother and was going through severe clinical depression. I know it feels like you cant put one foot in front of the other but those are the things you need to do. It is extremely important to talk to the people on this forum, your friends and pastor or counselor. You cannot become isolated. You certainly have a lot on your plate but you've invested in YOU and you need to take care of yourself. Isolation is the worst thing for you. If you can lean on your friends or family or turn to these forum members. They understand where you are and what you're feeling. Let everyone help.
