    Loosing weight before the Operation?:(

Hi Milton I have to say that I didn't experience much pain at all, just a bit of tenderness around the scare areas but no pain in my stomach. For the first day I threw up a lot - always do with a general, which makes u feel a bit sorry for yourself. I'm 8 days post op now and the liquid diet is trying at times, especially in the first five days for me, but I just keep focussing on Saturday when I can have a Shepherds Pie! I can't wait for the liquids and mushy stage to be over so that I can see what I'm able to tolerate. It's not that long to go. When I first went for my consultation I weighed 108.8 kgs, today I am 102.2 so I have lost over a stone, I'm really pleased about that. Hope all goes well for you, keep us posted. Di x

    Loosing weight before the Operation?:(

I know what you mean! It does seem silly to be told to lose weight before surgery that you have had to get to because you find it impossible to do just that! I was put on a pre diet 7 day milk diet, to lose weight and shrink my liver, I really tried to stick to but wasn't too good, I may have lost a couple of pounds. I too have a BMI of 40 and had my surgery on Sunday - I was so worried that I would be told I couldn't have it but I wasn't even weighed beforehand. I KNOW how hard it is but try even if you can only lose a few pounds, good luck x

    Food, I love you!

Terri, I am being banded in two days. I love to think that after I am banded I can still go to a restaurant and eat what you have just mentioned, it is exactly how I would like my band to work, you seem to have it just right.

    Pre Op Milk Diet

I have found other on the site that couldn't stand this diet either ! I can have 2 pints of semi skimmed milk and 1 yoghurt per day - and at least 2 litres of water. It is too much I have headaches etc. and have today eaten McDonalds - really worried now. I am in the UK btw.

    Pre Op Milk Diet

Hi there, I am due to have my band this Sunday and supposed to be on the milk diet but today have only sort of stuck to it. Did any one else not stick to it rigidly, I hope it doesn't put my op at risk. Loving this site by the way!
