Mom of 3 boys, what do you do a Fast Food Rest. after Band?
lapbandlover replied to McSteph100's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
if you go to Wendy's their chili is delicious. At McDonald's I can get down most of a filet-o-fish (no bun), or a fruit and yogurt parfait. Some Burger King's have chili too. Side sald's are OK too if you can get them down easily, just watch the salad dressing calorie content. -
Hello, I have tried quite a few and my favorite is EAS Advantage carb control premixed, pretty tasty and I don't like powders. These are really good and are only 110 calories and 17 grams of high quality protein. Don't get the EAS Mypolex though, those are for body builders. Good luck!

I went to Brigham and Women's with Blue Cross but my grandson's were born at Worcester. Good luck!

Do you buy any clothes while your weight is transitioning down?
lapbandlover replied to citygirl4616's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been buying all along, going from a size 20 to a 10 I needed to! Just hit the clearance racks at Macy's and Sear's, they have some really good buys and luckily for me they carry petites. It is so nice to be able to shop off the rack now and have the stuff actually fit. Good luck and happy shopping! -

lapbandlover replied to onelove756's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi ONELOVE, I'm from Mass too, South Shore. Congrats on your decision, I am a little under 11 months out and down to a size 10, no regrets here. Best of luck, Pam -
Pre=op diet - no food at all for 3 days! ?
lapbandlover replied to sadie11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do two weeks of two shakes a day and one very small meal, trade you! Good luck, you can do it. -
Has anyone had sharp pains?
lapbandlover replied to Leah Peets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
happened to me too, it gets better as the weight comes off. I was checked for gall bladder and hernia just in case, both negative. It usually happened to me after lying down, it is port placement hitting some kind of nerve/muscle. Tell your doc just in case, hope it gets better for you. Pam -
Anyone wish they had chosen bypass??
lapbandlover replied to xokimberlyxo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I must not be normal cause I am only 1 lb from goal after 9 months, lol and if a lazy butt like me can do it............, Seriously, my surgeon tried to gently sway me to bypass also and I flat out refused. Does yours do the band laparascopically or does that have to be open also? -
thanks Miss Vicki, you'll be there before you know it. I haven't been a size 10 since I got married in 1978, it is still hard for me to believe. I love what this band has done for me and I know you will too.

my nutritionist has me on calcium citrate as opposed to calcium carbonate for better absorption and I use Citracal Creamy Bites which are fabulous, chocolate, caramel or lemon. They are getting a little difficult to find as most of the pharmacies around me have dropped the line in favor of Viactiv whch is less expensive but I managed to find them on line at cvs.com. They do have Citracal in petite pills but they are still big enough I have to quarter them and I'm too lazy!

it is a bit of both, I still have a hard time chewing enough and eating slower after 50 years of wolfing down my food and it was an adjustment not to turn to food for comfort but I still have a piece of chocolate when I want to, just not the whole box, but it is so worth it, as of this morning I am 1 lb from goal! I have never been to goal in all the years of dieting. I write this as I sit here at work in my size 10 jeans, yay! Next stop size 8 (maybe) lol. Good luck Vicki, I just know you will be fine.

Hey Miss Vicki - I had mine done last April when I was 49, am 50 now and it was the best thing I ever did. It is a life altering decision but I know it's one I will never regret.

I had it filled but haven't started it yet

I had to quit, I knew I had to do it so I started about 8 weeks pre-op and don't know if they ever checked, I started up again 6 months post-op like a dummy but just got my new scrip for Chantix so here I go again. Good luck.

SUPERBOWL!!! Who's gonna win?
lapbandlover replied to smatyas's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
as a Mass. girl I have to say go Pats! -
mine just started thinning (a lot) this month and I am now 6 months out. I have eaten between 65 - 85 grams of protein a day and have taken a biotin every day and it is still happening. It has never happened to me on any diet before so I don't know why but hopefully it won't last too much longer! Pam
