Dr Trace Curry- Cincinnati, OH
finallythin replied to ambervsg2013's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I'm back to days from surgery. Things are a little worse than I would have expected. Everytime i drink liquids it settles in my sleeve and it hurts. I know I just had surgery so some of this is probably still fresh ones, but I hope the pain subsides cause I can't stand it. They only gave me liquid ibuprofen which is nasty, because I get sick with vicodin, percocet or any other high-strength codeine painkiller. It's all hopefully temporary. I haven't weighed myself but I'd lost 18 lbs on the 2-week pre-op diet. I'm still very happy I had the surgery...no buyer's remorse here. Anyone else experience pain in their sleeve after drinking liquids? -
I had my surgery a couple of days ago. I am suffering from sleeve pain...only when I drink shakes/liquids. I can feel the liquid in my sleeve (weirdest feeling). It hurts when it first comes into contact with the bottom of my sleeve. Even drinking water hurts! I hope this pain subsides when I drink anything. My hubby reminded me that I am just out of surgery, & that I'll need time to heal. Anybody else have this feeling after surgery?

My official success story video!
finallythin replied to Tinaatl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Omg! Tina you have an awesome success story!!! I agree with everything you said about wishing you'd done it sooner. I have an interest in running. I walked my first half marathon in November.... only wishing someday I could break free from the chains of being hopeless and morbidly obese, so I could jog/run like the others. And so, happy to say, my journey begins next week!!! So happy for you. what an inspiration you are for me and everyone else who has the pleasure of reading/watching your emotional comeback in life! You look gorgeous!!!! -

I realize I'm posting this late....but just want to add that I'm on board for an upcoming surgery with dr. Brad Watkins and I truly agree that there is something different; genuine, if you will, about him vs. other doctors. Met with dr. Curry, Northup & Watkins for seminars. Just extremely happy and satisfied with my choice to go with Watkins. Set for a gastric sleeve in 10 days...triumphing through the bland and ever-boring 2-wk liquid pre-op. Can't wait to begin the next chapter of my life. I've been overweight for 7 years. Best of luck out there to all newbies like me, and please keep us posted to those of you who've done amazing & have already joined the loser's bench. -
Anyone have their sleeve done in Cincinnati
finallythin replied to buckeyefan1985's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Mokee, Congratulations on your sleeve! That's so exciting that you're down 92 lbs and counting... I decided on dr. Watkins over Northup due to insurance and distance too. Also, hubby & I met with dr. Watkins and we felt very comfortable. I never asked for a number of sleeves he's done. I'm certain dr. Northup is an amazing surgeon too. Hope you have awesome continued success!! Keep us posted. Getting nervous....with only 10 more days until surgery. liquid pre op 2-week fast is challenging especially with a hubby who's as fit as a fiddle and 4 kiddos. But I know I can do this. Best of luck to you and all of you!!! -
