I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
newlife281013 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi everyone, I have not been on for a while. Wonderful to see all your posts and catch up on everyone's success. I thought it was time I updated with pics. I am 19 weeks out and loving it. I still have reflux but mostly under control with one pill each morning. I started at 121 kgs 266lbs. With 52in bust, 47in waist 56in hips I am now. 90 kgs 198lbs with 41in bust, 39in waist 45in hips Start size 22 (and tight) now wearing 16 I have met a wonderful man and as getting to know each other found he to was a big boy and about 5 months ahead of me had the same surgery My whole life has changed. I actually like to exercise now Some before and after pics, I wish everyone happiness, love and success Two weeks before surgery Today -
I bought a lovely dress to wear to work, but whilst it looked good I had a problem with the low south searching belly that has shrunk somewhat but could not be hidden in the dress. I bought some suck it in pants that go from your knees to under boob (probably not that long for normal height, but I'm only 5ft). I looked fabulous if I do say so. First meeting of the day went well, I was standing and speaking all good, even complements on how I looked. Second meeting not so good I was sitting at a computer running the system on a big screen for someone else's presentation. About 1/2 through I had this horrible feeling of my belly being pushed up to my boobs, started to sweat and having trouble breathing, I took a drink of water which would not go down. I quickly slinked out of the room and almost ran to the loo, I have never been so pleased to get clothing off and breath. I made it back to the meeting, with my low belly and hid it behind my laptop while saying goodbye to everyone as they walked out. Note to self test these things out for sitting and standing, and the next dress I buy will have a twist or ruffles to hide the evil over hang.

A girl I met at clinic put away her wedding ring and bought a $20 cheap ring cause people were asking if her marriage was ok. She ended up buying 3 rings until she was at her goal then had her wedding and engagement ring resized -

Should I or shouldn't I do it?
newlife281013 replied to ht3013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ht3013, ultimately only you can make the decision to change your lifestyle and your body in such a way. For 99% of us here, if we could do it on diet alone we would not be here. Whilst we all have similar issues, we are all different. I to worried about how I would ever enjoy myself with friends if I am only going to eat 2 mouthfuls of food etc. Christmas Eve was 8 weeks for me and on Christmas Day I had a 1/2 protein shake for breaky, we drove to the coast to have the day with friends I drank 600 mls of water on the way 1 1/2 hr drive. We played board games and there was fruit and nibbles I had a cherry and a biscuit with dip. We went for a walk on the beach and played frisbee came back to the house and I had a slice of Ham some tomato, potato salad, cheese and cucumber (small amounts). Now it took me as long to eat as everyone else took to eat mountains of food, we did secret Santa and then went for a swim and I had a celebratory drink with water in between. No one noticed or said anything about the amount of food I ate, I was satisfied and had a ball and the best part was I went for a swim, on the beach, in front of people and ran around playing frisbee. Last Christmas I ate too much, skipped the swim (I made the excuse of cleaning up, cause I did not have bathers that fit me, nor would I have felt comfortable). I did not play beach games, again too uncomfortable not to mention with back issues I could barely walk let alone run around). That night I skipped dinner not because I was ill or feeling yuck, I was actually exhausted from having such a great time. Before I started this awesome journey I was 121 kgs (266 pounds). Christmas Eve I was 100kgs (220 pounds). What a difference it has made and to boot I have lost another kilo (2 pounds) since. I am not going to say the last 8-9 weeks has been easy and I still have a long way to go, but I can say it has been worth every struggle along the way and I wish I had done it sooner. I can only suggest that you research well, the opp and your chosen doctor. Be aware and prepared of all the issues and stages, it is major surgery and not to be taken lightly, ensure you have support and your own determination. Good luck with your decision and your future, happy to answer any questions I can and many others here will do the same. -

Merry Christmas everyone, congratulations to all of you and good luck, good health and prosperity to you all for 2014. Thank you all for the stories and support. Well my Christmas goal was to be at 95kgs, I have fallen a bit short but very happy I hit 100kgs yesterday which marked 8 weeks and 21 kgs down (35 to go) I am loving my new job and met a man over the last few weeks (first nice guy in many years, well first guy in many years). I had been plagued with back problems for some years and 8 weeks ago I walked with a stoop and a stick and was lucky to walk 10 meters without having to sit down as I lost feeling in my legs and feet and the pain was excruciating. I still have nerve issues and a dodgy hip but yesterday I walked 2 city blocks to meet old friends for lunch and back 2 city blocks to work without having to sit down. I was more stoked about the ability to walk than the lunch ( in the past would have shouted myself a big meal regardless the cost because it was an outing and caught a cab cause I couldn't walk that far in a lunch break, yesterday i had 1/4 of an entree at $6.50 and walked back to work). Photo below top and bottom left me a month before I started, top and bottom middle 4 weeks out, pic far right a week ago at the work Christmas morning tea. Hope you all have a great Christmas Day where ever you are. -

Shopping. I hated shopping before. Sex. Been so many years I forgot what that is. The Mirror. Bypassed mirrors in the past, can't help but to have a glance every time I go past. The Bath, had not had one in years, bit embarrassed, but now I can get in and out I have one every week, with bubbles. -

Have you spoken to your dietitian or doctor. When was your follow up? How much have you been loosing so far. I had a stall and lost nothin for a week and a half the scales just went up and down. I was sleeved on Oct 28th then this week finally I have had another loss. Suggestion don't weigh yourself every day it can be off putting -

Ahhhhhh! 4 protein shakes and 1 meal a day FOR 2 WEEKS!
newlife281013 replied to Jls93001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With lots of determination, it's really hard but this journey is not an easy quick fix. Take comfort in the fact that thousands of us have done it and come through the other side. There will be tears and frustration but every time you see the scale move backward and the pants that were too tight are now too loose you give yourself a little boost. Everyone goes through the different stages and we are all here to help. Every stage is different and has its adjustments. Keep reminding yourself why your here and that every day/week is a new one. Don't get bogged down in what you haven't done, but what you have. Try and stay away from temptation as much as possible and believe in YOU.
