    Any food addicts here?

I can honestly say before surgery I love to eat! I enjoyed good food. After surgery I still enjoy good food but I mostly crave healthy foods oddly fried and fatty foods just don't look appetizing anymore. After sleeve I can eat 2 chips and and that'll last me weeks and I never have a sweet tooth anymore. Sleeve has changed my life so much I don't even miss it. I love the good healthy food I eat I crave that now! I wish everyone the best!
  2. That's funny living in NJ and seeing him at a conference this past summer every one including me thought he looked the same. But side by side helps. Someone should have offered him the sleeve.

    Help.... post op question

Diarrhea was the only symptom no fever but once it got bad I did have abdominal pain. The diarrhea started like 4 days after I got home. For awhile I just kept going to the bathroom but I was still drinking my fluids fine but eventually that all stopped. The doctors can check with a simple Stoll sample the earlier the better unfortunately for my I spent 5 days in the hospital. Believe me I'm not trying to freak you out but the disease is serious so must share. The surgery wasn't the problem but since they pump you with all those antibiotics after surgery your body can't fight infections because you have no more bad bacteria. They should always give a probiotic with the antibiotics. Where you giving those?

    Help.... post op question

Just being honest this happened to me and I felt good then BAM so sick. Turns out I caught CDiff If you don't know what it is please Google it. I never heard of it until it literally not kidding almost killed me. Please be careful it doesn't hurt to get checked. I thought it was my IBS acting up turns out that's now gone it was CDiff! All the best but please be careful with this.

    I give up on eating!

How far along are you? I'm 5 weeks and that use to happen to me too. But I kept going. I don't remember when maybe last week but throat problem is gone still burping but I notice when I slow down less burping! The sounds aren't to loud so IDK LOL.
  9. Yes! I was told all liquids count. But.I'm finally getting my water in! All the best!
  10. So I'm a month and 2 days post-op and every since I took my self off the pain meds a )few days after surgery), I haven't been able to sleep through the night! It's frustrating because I like to get up early before work to exercise but obviously I'm to exhausted now I have to work out in the evening. Is anyone else having this problem? Dear sleep why do you hate me?!?

    Constipation

I keep hearing people say this but I take a probiotic everyday! It's so good for your digestive I have not once be constipated my doctor andn nutritionist said it's because of the good ole probiotics! Wal-Mart has them for less then $10. Life saver!
  13. It's crazy because in the beginning prior to surgery I was very adamant about keeping this to myself and never telling anyone. But after surgery ( almost 4 weeks ago) I just want to tell everyone! I'm just so thrilled with myself for making this choice I want to other people who struggle with weight issues. Hates are gonna hate anyway so I don't care who knows.
  14. In addition to walking cause sometimes early out let's face it you feel weak or the meds have you tired, I would lay on myside and just rock rock rock and that really helped cause when I stood to walk after the rocking the gas would pass. All the best to you!
  15. That is hard. I say try some baked flaky fish if you can that was on my soft diet. It's funny how each nutritionist and surgeon have different requirements. I was one week each. liquid, soft, regular. All the best!

    Any Nj Sleevers

Thanks! The first 2 weeks was the hardest. But since I've been cleared for regular food last week I've felt so much better! Nothing seems to up set my stomach I eat well however the fluids are the hardest to get in struggling with that. 30 pounds so far but the scale has been stuck for 5 long days!! Anyway, How are you? Are you post-op, if so how long?

    African American Sleevers

Different doctors different weight. My surgeon, primary, and nutritionist all has me at least 2 - 5 pounds different! Even at home I don't know what to believe. As long as its going down I just pick the one I like the most :-) All the best!

    Thyroid Issues...anyone Else?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few weeks prior to surgery and I am freaking out that the sleeve won't work. I'm almost 4 weeks post-op and down about 30 pounds. I've never had any symptoms from the hypothyroidism expect the weight gain. I'm on a medication but IDK just hope this works.
  19. Funny thing is I NEVER drank with meals. My parents didn't let us only after eating. So this has always been my normal. I always found it weird when people request drinks with food. Having the sleeve has brought a lot of adjustments but this has been then easiest.
