The single biggest tool you should use is MFP so you're on the right track. And you're getting some nice guidelines here but ultimately' date=' the ratio you need to hit is unique to you. It's that sweet spot where you feel satisfied, hit your nutritional goals (60+ grams Protein, for sure) and lose weight with some measure of consistency. Your loss pattern is your own - for me, I only lost about one week of the month, but with the exception of stalls, I had the same pattern throughout the entire loss period.Start with some of the suggestions here. I was on clears for 11 days post op and then on liquids for another ten days, I think. I can't remember anymore, it's been more than three years! After that I moved into soft foods and advanced to a normal diet as I felt comfortable.
Your biggest focus right now should be hydration as you're at risk for dehydration in the first month. After that, aim to increase your Protein until you're getting those high numbers your body needs so it won't feed off your muscle. After that, as you're able to eat more, worry about counting calories and making a stricter diet for yourself.
Good luck, welcome to VST and congrats on your new sleeve!

I was having the same issue and ended up in ER for dehydration my doctor gave me a sublingual zofran rx that helped me huge! Since I put pill under my tongue and didnt have to swallow it my nausea was finally controlled and I was able to keep fluids down.

Thank you for sharing I am 2 weeks out and having exact same experience you described. not able to get much Water in and having regrets. Your post really spoke to me and gave me encouragement much needed. Thank you

No my doc and nutritionist gave me guidelines of whats ok to eat but not of how much. I feel like I am eating more than I should be but I haven't felt full or gotten sick at all so just dont know.

I had my surgery Friday oct 4th and had the exact same experience and it also ended with a trip to the ER and 4 bags of fluids for dehydration. My ER doc gave me a script for a sublingual zofran that dissolves under my tongue which helped me BIG TIME! Next day was still nauseated but could finally hold down liquids. Try sugar free popsicles too they really helped me but you will probably be really weak for a few days I know I was. Good luck to you!

You can get a sub-lingual rx of zofran that helped me Huge with my nausea and a friend sd for the bloating she used gas-x. A side effect of the transderm is blurry vision. Mine got soooo bad and I couldn't figure out why. My Dr. removed the patch and a day later my vision was fine.

My Dr. told me no drinking a half hour before and after eating as you will wash the nutrients through and not absorb them. Also will intake more than you should in the beginning. That is one thing I am having a hard time with.

I had the sleeve on Oct 4th. 1st 4 days were horrible with dry-heaving and a trip to the ER for dehydration. Now I am drinking and doing the soft diey of cream Soups, sf pudding, greek yogurt and trying to take in my Protein but I never get a full feeling so I am worried I am doing too much or maybe not enough, how much should I take in a day? Still feeling really weak.

For those of you that are pre-op just know the way the drinks taste WILL change. Drinks I liked before surgery I cant even tolerate now and they taste completely different. Its best to find one you like for your pre-op diet then try samples after surgery to see which ones you like best post-op chances are they will not be the same.
