This is normal. I had the same thing. This is gas stuck after the surgery. You need to move around, try walking and take anti-gas meds. It sometimes comes back, but not very often. It will get better, however. I promise you.

I am not sure about the car, but the financing is probably through a 3rd party. If you simply send it back to the dealer, you may be hit on your credit report. A friend was able to trade the higher priced car in for a lesser price model, thus reducing the payment. Another option is to try and sell it on your own. You will probably get a better price for it that way. Good luck

I get it periodically after eating gasy food or drinking a carb bevereage. I've learned to stay away from both.

Hi, I was banded in July. At the time, I had to get a special OK from the insurance company, because my Doctor was not affiliated with any hostpital in program. The cost was about $50,000 with the hospital stay etc. Everything was paid. The problem is now I've received a letter from my insurance company asking me to sign a release so they can have a 3rd party company audit my case with the hospital. Does anyone know what this means? Will I be asked to pay now? They have sent me three request, the last one being registered mail. I'm so afraid to sign it, I don't want to get stuck with another bill. I'm a freaked out, and would appreciate any feedback from anyone else that has had this happen? Thanks, Karen

You should not feel bad. I also gained back most of my weight after the surgery, and before my fill. That is a healing time. The fill is what is going to give you resistance... That is when the losing journey begins.

Don't feel bad. I did the same thing when I asked off from work. What made it worse was that my boss is soooo nice and caring. I felt so guilty. But I had to keep it to myself, because this is a very personal journey and even the nicest of people would not understand. Don't feel bad. You had to do it....

How soon can I return to work after Lap Band?
KarenA replied to DAA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery on Wednesday, and worked from home starting Monday. My doctor said no driving until 7 days post-of, so I was back at the office by Thursday. -
Congrats DAA! I also was on Clear liquids for two days prior to surgery. I was not walking, however, until 24 hours after the surgery. I was very sore. However, I did feel like myselft within a week. Good luck on 2/28

Tracyd. I understand where you are coming from. After all the pain, PB'ing liquids for 6 weeks etc, I also fee insulted if someone called it a magic pill. However, I know in my heart that my band has given me so much back. I have my life and I feel good about myself for the first time in a long time. I'm so happy, that I say let them think what they want! I'm going to laugh all the way to my goal weight and I'm going to sing as I stay at the goal for the rest of my life

I would still try. I did not face this, but maybe someone on this site has run into the same thing and found a way around it. -

I've had two so far. It feels like a needle. Not as bad as the pain after the surgery. Also, it is over in a few minutes, and then the lbs start coming off Good luck. -
Hi All, Well, I made the mistake of sharing with my family that I'm scheduled with Dr. Kuri on 4/18 for the lap-band. (I should have known better). All I got was how stupid I am, why should I go to Mexico, I'm probably going to die, Try my Dr so and so, he did my belly lipo last year etc... I was really sure that I was doing the right thing. Based on my research on the web, especially on this site, Dr Kuri is a good choice. He has a lot more experience than a number of the Dr's in the US, plus his cost are much more doable. Can anyone who went to Mexico share the feedback you received from Friends and Family? I could use some support from those people who made the choice and don't have regrets. Thanks in advance, Karen A.

I'm under UHC, and the doctor was in my network. My initial visit required a $15.00 copay. He then directed me to five other types of doctors to confirm I was healthy enough for the surgery (Psych, Heart, Internal med etc). Once he got back the results of my other visits, he scheduled the surgery. The entire process started in April and I was banded in July.

Hi nectar, I started with going to the inamed web site. If you punch in your zip code, it will send you a list of doctors who are certified to peform the surgery. From there, I met with two that were closest and went with the one I liked personally.

Hi Sues05, I was banded on 7/27 and started drining diet coke again after week six (Healing period over). My doctor never said I couldn't once I was done healing. I'm the same way, I have the diet coke for my morning coffee. I am not having problems at all. Of course, I do notice I don't drink as much and I don't attempt to eat either before or after, but only because I am usually hearing the "gurgle" and don't feel hungry. Hope this helps. Karen

You just get on with your work-day and don't worry about it. All food is good, it is portion control that is the important thing. So what if you had a little fat with it, your body needs a little fat. As long as your band tolerated the startch, you're good. Eating only a baked potato for lunch is a good thing in my opinion. I'm sure pre-band you would have had a burger, soda and dessert with that. I know I would have. You're doing great... Don't worry. Karen

Hi HappyK, I was also UHC. I had a BMI of 35 with co-morbities and was approved. They were easy to work with.

Cost of Hospital - Lourdes Med Ctr Willingboro NJ
KarenA posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi all, Just wanted to share. I got a copy of the hospital bill sent to the insurance company from my surgery and it was $54,000 !!!!! This was for the lapband and a one night stay. I was pre-approved, so I'm hoping the insurance company will cover it. I'm just praying there is no mistake and I get that bill in the mail! -

Hi all, Well, they PAID IT. Wow, that was a scarry few days. Thanks all for your feedback. KarenA -
Fee, food is a drug and "Yes" the band is going to help you. I was the same way before getting banded. Granted, it has only been 2 weeks since my surgery, but I can already feel the difference. I am actually full after a bowl of soup! The band is a good tool and it will help you in a way that nothing else can. You will not physically be able to eat the amount you do today. I know eventually I'm going to have to face the depression that comes with giving up an addiction, but I'm so greatful this option is open to me now. Hang in there!

Hi all, Can someone give me some good recipes for the protein-powdered mix I got? It was part of the kit the doctor gave me, but he did not have much info on how to make the powder into a yummy drink. Anything will be great. I'm so sick of broth Thanks,
