I was sleeved on October 16th. For the past week, I have been very nauseous at night, after eating dinner. I have been figuring out what foods I can and cannot eat, and I am careful with my diet. Eating slowly is more difficult than not drinking while eating but I am trying. Yet, I still get nauseous and have even vomited after eating dinner. For Breakfast, I have a Protein shake. lunch and snack is usually Peanut Butter crackers, yogurt, cheese, whole grain toast, etc. Dinner is when I eat "real" meals....cooked food in small amounts. Is anyone else experiencing this? I am so frustrated with the pain or nausea I feel when I eat. I am starting to dread food.

Nausea After 2 Months

I was considering taking the prevacid again. But right now, the timer seems to be helping. And I haven't woke up nauseous in a couple of weeks. Something I definitely will try if it happens again. I really miss ginger ale. Do you drink it flat? My doctor said absolutely nothing carbonated. -
Nausea After 2 Months

My surgery was Sept 27 and up until this week I have been nauseated almost every meal. One things that caused mine is that I was not eating slow enough. There is an app called "Eat Slower", this has helped me a lot. You don't realize how fast you are eating.... Are you eating your protein first? That is important....Then you should fill up on low starch veggies and then have very little carb. You should introduce one new food at a time and see how you handle it....See if that helps...if not, I would talk to your Dr. or NUT and see what they say. Thank you so much. I got the app. I know I eat too fast at times. I was also having a hard time figuring out which foods were causing me problems. I will follow your advice and see how it goes. If I am still having problems, I will contact my Dr. My NUT quit the week before my surgery so I don't have someone to turn to with food questions. -

I don't want to eat either. I am eating a little but I am finding yogurt and pudding the best tasting. I think I am frustrated too because I want to eat something I like, but I can't. I have also been waking up feeling a little nauseous since going back to work. Right now I am not sure what the heck is going on. When I eat, it feels like the food is stuck in my throat (friends have told me this is normal). I also have some pain. Not bad, more of a nuisance. I also get a feeling kind of like a big bubble up to my chest (I really do not know how to explain it) and I have to sit up straight and take deep breaths to get rid of it. Maybe I am eating too fast. I don't know. I am rambling. Sorry. Tomorrow I see the doctor so hopefully I will get some answers. I have so many questions for him (my nutritionist quit so I can't contact her along the way) I hope he has a good chunk of time blocked out for me. lol -

I know you don't like Gatorade much but have you tried it since surgery? I was never a big fan but now I love it. My taste buds are all out of whack since there are things that I liked before but do not like now. Or maybe powerade? My doctor told me to get something with electrolytes because I was also experiencing dehydration symptoms. I wonder if the pedialyte pops would work as well? It is what I used to give my son when he was sick. Just a thought. -

10 days out right now. I am surprised at how good I feel. I struggled with getting in all my protein, mostly because everything tasted disgusting, but once I started drinking 1-2 shakes a day I had no more problems. Except that I hate the shakes. lol (not because they taste bad, I am just sick of them after a 3 week pre-op diet). Looking forward to the next stage of the diet. I have had enough of the fluids. Hope everyone is doing well. -

I don't have any drains either. Just a couple of small holes. They itch but no pain at all. I have plenty of energy as well. I just get a little sleepy around 6pm. For the people with no energy, have you spoken to your doctor about this? Maybe a vitamin or hydration problem? I am praying for blessings on all the oct bariatric beauties. -
I had my surgery on the 16th. I am trying to follow the diet but I can't seem to get my protein in. Everything tastes gross. Greek yogurt, I can barely suffer through. Isopure is gross, I tried various flavors. Ricotta cheese...gross. cottage cheese...gross. I had carnation instant breakfast and a glass of milk today. That is about all I like right now. Anything that tastes ok has no protein. I was on the protein shakes for 3 weeks pre-op and cannot even look at them now. What can I have???? I don't want to do 2 weeks of skim milk and instant breakfast.

Had my surgery on Wednesday and came home on Thursday. It was very difficult at first. Little to no pain but a lot of nausea and vomiting as well. For 2 days I couldn't keep anything down. A friend of mine had her surgery the same day as me and had the same issues. I am finally feeling better but having a lot of trouble getting all my fluids down. I kept hearing how hard it is to get even a couple of ounces down but now I understand. Now that I am able to keep everything down without vomiting, I will work on more fluids tomorrow. Hope everyone else is doing well. -

2 more days. Today I am doing my shopping for when I come home and taking my pre-surgery photos for my before/after shots. I want to have the visual documentation. -

I HATE the pre-op diet. He put me on it for 3 weeks instead of one because I did not lose any weight before now. I actually gained a little when I quit smoking. Today is not a good day. I basically didn't have anything all day because I could not stomach another shake. I have been allowed up to 6 shakes a day and 2 cups of non starchy veggies. And 6 oz of skinless chicken only when I am so hungry I could eat my own shoe. lol I have been grumpy all day but I talked to a friend who had the sleeve 2 years ago and she gave me pep talk which helped a lot. -
