  2. No sorry I paid the gap myself. I was impatient and didn't want to wait for it to go through.

  6. Hang in there Kadybug I found it got easier a few days in, make sure you keep up the Water as well that really helped and will also be good practice for after the op when you need to keep up the fluids. Good luck with the breast feeding hope that works out for you.
  7. Lou I am from the central coast up towards the Lake Macquarie end, so not to far from you. I had my surgery October 8 2013 and have lost 40kg so far, weight loss has slowed down a bit now, but I still loose at least a couple of kilos each month. I am due back at my surgeons at the end of May and am really hoping to have hit the 90kg mark by then. Have to be honest haven't really got into exercise to much but try to get a bit in here and there. Happy to answer any questions you might have take care and good luck on the journey

Surgery scheduled but family unsupportive need help

. Get your family to meet the girl who has had it done and I am sure there are information seminars like we have in Australia take them to one of those so as they can make an informed decision. Yes there might be some hair loss but as for the rest of it, most people are not throwing up every day only when the eat the wrong foods or to much food. You don't get malnutrition with the sleeve that is usually the bypass and I have never heard oh brittle bones. I am 55 and about 6 months out I have lost 74lbs and my only regret is that I didn't get this done 20 years ago, it has improved my health and lifestyle enormously. Good luck
  13. welcome, there are some bariatric vitamins that are chewable, they are not the most flavoursome but are edible and cover just about everything you need on the reduced nutritional intake. The were highly recommended by both my nutritionist and surgeon. I have recently had bloods done and all my levels were terrific. Good luck and enjoy your journey.
  14. . Hey Bec - will we lose hair regardless of the amount of Protein you manage? I'm a month post op and managing on average over 60grams per day mostly b/c I'm terrified of the hairless lol! Soontobesleeved I have made sure that I hit or exceeded 60grams protein almost every day hoping it would mean I got to keep what hair I have, but have now found that's no guarante. I have done all I could, my hairdresser said to reduce the frequency of washing, try to let your own natural oils work for you and have some good nourishing treatments, she said it may not stop it but might help lessen the amount you loose. Guess I just have to wait and see how much I loose and rely on her to give me cuts that work.
  15. Hi and welcome whereabouts are you
  16. Hi everyone I think I am starting to loose hair, did anyone find any products that were useful to slow or prevent this. My Dr said to take Zinc so I have started on that, but I don't have a lot of hair to begin with so would like to keep as much as possible.
  17. Hi everyone sooooo happy had follow up appointment today, officially lost 31kgs and even better than that got taken off blood pressure meds, no regrets for this sleever.
  18. I would love to but will be travelling for work that week. Maybe next time
  19. How is everyone going? We seem to have all retreated into our shells for a while on here lol. I've been at a stall for two weeks now, so frustrating but I know this to shall pass when it's ready.
  20. I am only three months out started at 129 day of surgery and am now 108 so am averaging 7kg a month
  21. Ditdee I am 12 weeks out and have lost 20kgs since surgery, some weeks I haven't lost anything though so don't be disheartened, as Misty said stick with your plan and it will work for you,and try not to compare yourself with others, we are all on the same journey but each of us has to travel our own road.
  22. Your welcome Ditdee, I know what you mean about thinking it isn't working, if I go for a few days or a week and do see numbers change on the scale I start to worry that maybe I am eating to much or that it just isn't going to work for me. Luckily I have a daughter who keeps reminding me that there are victories other than the scale like loosing cm's and having clothes getting looser. This really is an emotional journey as well as a physical one isn't it. I think we are so used to diets not working in the past that it is very easy to doubt that this could possibly work.

    Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Misty you look terrific
  24. Have a safe and fun New Years Eve every one, hope 2014 brings you all you deserve
  25. Hi Ditdee I fluctuate around 1/2 to 1 kg each month for a couple of days, then it goes away, think it's more about fluid retention than the quantity your eating
